Well Madden says Denver wins 31-28 in overtime on a Matt Praeter Field Goal, but I'm going all in with Tecmo Bowl on this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9xdG83StOk

Winner: Denver
Score: 40-38
MVP: Manning
Unusual Play: Von Miller wins the Bronco's the game on an overtime safety.

Video links of Tecmo Super Bowl automatically earn a tp

Similar to what I was thinking: A Tecmo Bowl reference is good for a TP.
"There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'"

"You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body."

Just to kill some time while combining two things most people here enjoy -- football and getting TPS.

Win TPs's for coming up with the best prediction for:
- winner (1)
- closest to actual final score (2 - if final score is exact match - 5 tps -->you have to get the winner right though)
- MVP of the game (1)
- Any unusual play you predict.  Examples: Safety, kickoff return for TD, punt return for TD, flea-flicker play -- something you don't see every game.  Manning throwing for a touchdown or getting sacked doesn't qualify.  has to be something really notable.  -->  limit this to one choice rather than listing every possible play that could happen in an effort to rack up TPs

What about adding losing tommy points.  I know we did that in the championship series in 2010, and another series I think.  List lots of TPs.  Lol makes thing more challenging if your wrong.
that would take a mod's superpowers to take away TPs.   not sure I'd want to penalize a bunch of b-ball fans for guessing about football.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Seahawks win 34-24. Marshawn Lynch takes MVP.
I like Marcus Smart

refs doing everything in their power to make this game close. manning chokes, refs cover for him. reminds me like the 2006 AFC championship game. hopefully this one ends better than that one did.
not surprised that seattle is pushing denver around, that's what physical teams do.
and wilson's ability to extend plays is crucial in such high-nerve situations.

so, here's what I've got so far (allowing for a late entry each by esel1000 & syfy9).

Seattle winners:
Me, abbmack9, cman, donaghus, wbrowntrophy, static, sparzwizard, mikestar, rondofan1255, fitzhickey, posit, cwpc, scubasteve, syfy9, esel1000  1 TP each paid up (except for me, if someone wouldn't mind giving me that one I'd appreciate it.)

closest to the game score
well, no one was all that close but I'm giving it to Mikestar for having the largest spread for a Seattle win (14 points)  2 tps coming

MVP: was Malcolm Smith and we all whiffed on that one.

unusual play: thought for sure someone would have picked a safety but we all whiffed on this one as well.

hope everyone had fun.  maybe we can do this again next year.
