Id want a combination of significant salary relief and high-value prospects (Think Heyward or Monroe) or unprotected picks with better than even odds at being lottery picks.

Agreed. 2 of 3 of:

- relief from Wallace or Green;
- a good player younger than Rondo;
- pick(s) (dependent in value on the above).

I say that's a reach before the deadline unless he's amazing upon return. More likely over the summer.

My price would either be

2 young players* and an unprotected 1st (protected if allstar potential is obvious in prospect. Would really prefer a rim protector.

1 young player*, team takes wallace, and protected 1st

1 young player*, 3 protected firsts

* For young players I want guys under 25 who have average or above average size for their position and have already established themselves as at least solid role players.

ex Bucks    Knight, Henson and protected 1st

Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

I would understand trading him for a top 3-4 pick in this year's draft still wwouldn't be thrilled tho.

Really don't understand taking a "good young player"  to me if its Hayward or Monroe.  Feels like theywould soon be overpaid overrated players.

I'd want more of a blue chip young player.

Maybe  asking too much but it' hard to be excited about the aalternative. And if your not eexcited with the return what's the point of moving him

Realistically, I say we get a or a couple expirings, 1st round pick this year and next year, and a decent young players.

Or we straight up trade one of our 1st probably the Brooklyn first and rondo for a top 3 pick and an expiring.

I honestly would do lakers 1st round pick which should be top 5 pick and gasol for

Rondo,Wallace and Brooklyn's first.

Obviously need fillers but at the end of the day.
we would have ridiculous cap space, have two top 10 picks.

But at the end of the day I rather keep rondo unless Danny can somehow get more then what I just said. But I think that's best case scenerio being realistic:

I would want
1. A top 5 pick
or
2. Young players and a pick
or
3. Salary Relief for Wallace and a pick.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'm surprised how many people want to attach Wallace (likely diminishing the return quite a bit).

If we trade Rondo, we're likely going to suck for at least a couple years. So why does it matter if we have a bad contract?

I understand the benefits of having cap space, even if you don't sign free agents, but it seems foolish to diminish the return on your best player.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I wouldn't trade Rondo because what I'd ask for him would be seen as too much by the other team. Given fair value, I wouldn't make any deal. What's the point in trading your new captain and franchise face if you get the same value in return?  :-\

The SAC trade that PhoSita mentioned would be very tempting if it happened on Draft night, not before the trade deadline because their pick would be worse if Rondo played there. I don't know if i would do that trade, but that return would be very good.

I hope Ainge is trying to accumulate assets (expirings+picks+Fav) to trade for Marc Gasol, whose age is similar to Rondo/Green. Those 3 would help our young kids (Bradley/KO/Sully) to develop while contending for titles.

I think the Jrue Holiday trade is a good model that included a top 5 pick and a future pick.  We don't really need more picks but that would be good value.

In terms of players, I'll take Drummond or an equivalent young player.

I am not for trading Rondo just to trade Rondo.  We need to get real value and young value if we trade him.  There is risk with trading Rondo but there is also risk in holding on to him and having him leave for nothing.

1. Durant
2. Lebron
3. Chris Paul with Blake Griffin
4. Paul George, Roy HIbbert, Lance Stephenson

but then again, I'm high on Rondo as a player

A young player with high upside (somebody in the Harrison Barnes class), a #1 pick or two, and expiring contracts to cover Rondo and Wallace.

How much would it diminish the return?

Does that outweigh what you could gain with your cap space?

OKC got Ibaka by taking on bad salary.  Cleveland got Kyrie.  Utah just got two #1s.  The Celtics gave up a top-7 pick to clear one year of Raef's contract (although that wasn't with cap space).
