I think Sacto could be the best trade partner for the Wolves here. I don't see what the others might give up (or why).

I agree..might see Salmons or Thornton going to Minny..plus D-Williams be back on the west coast..Sac would have a very good young team going into the future
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Timberwolves, I'm told, are in advanced discussions with Sacramento on a deal that would swap Derrick Williams for Luc Mbah A Moute

Wow. How the mighty have fallen.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
We could send Bass or Lee for Williams.
he can back up the PF or SF positions. Give him some burn and watch his stock rise.
Problem is his salary obviously...Ainge might not want his 8 million on the books in 2 seasons time.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

The Timbewolves tried that for a couple of years. His stock is so sizzling now it will get him... Luc Mbah-a-Moute.

Also, another combo forward is not really what we need.

He's the kind of kid that Danny likes to roll the dice on. Problem again is his salary. I think he might fit better in a Brad Stephens run and gun offense though.
Adelmen tried starting him but he's still not there. Love hates him & probably has a lot to do with his bench burning.

Give him time as a stretch 3 or 4 and see what happens with 30 mins per game.
We could ask for a 2nd rounder considering Bass is a sure thing and the fact they're desperate to put veterans around Love to keep him happy.
His contract is so bad though so it's meh...

There has to be more to that. It serves no use to Minny.

I like it for Sacto though. Play Dwill at the 4 (where he's better, imo) next to Cousins. That's a nice front court, would also free them up to trade Jason Thompson.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

So many excuses, and not one of them is that he's probably just not what everyone thought he would be.

He's a good PF/SF tweener defender. He's a terrible offensive player though, so that really limits his value.

This trade is pretty much in the Batter for Gay mold, except Mbah is not nearly as good as Battier, which speaks volumes about how the Timberwolves feel about Williams.
