I thought it would be worth getting a feel for this since any time the topic of trading Rondo, or Rondo's value, comes up, there's a great deal of controversy (see, mostly recently, the Bobcats trade proposal thread).

Where do you fall on this poll?

I wanted to include a "I would never trade Rondo" option, but I ran out.  So if that's how you feel, say so in your post.

Some combination.

Salary relief and talent whether via a lottery pick or a young prospect. Preferably a known pick, not a pick to be determined later like the Harden trade.

Chose the combo.  One of the two.  In theory I'd like a good young prospect and a pick, but I assume if you do a combo you're probably getting one of those two and the salary dump.

Loving attention is not a poll option?

A combination of 2 and 3.

Not too interested in salary relief unless there's a viable plan on the table to turn the Celtics back into contenders almost immediately.  None of the contracts we have are particularly bad, and if we're building with young prospects and picks then the contracts will most likely be gone by the time we're a truly dangerous team again.

Hell, I'd even take on an additional two- or three-year contract if it means the return in prospects/picks is that much better.  Bonus points if it's attached to a veteran player who could be a good influence on a young team.

Rondo...his value is pretty high, but only to a team without a top-flight starting PG, and that list is shrinking with all of the guys drafted over the past few years.

But to trade an in-prime all-star starter in the top jersey sales list, I'd want quite a bit.  It would take a nice package...multiple pieces.  Young blue chip plus established star/top-3 starter, pieces that can go into the rotation right now.

Honestly, though, the piece we're missing most is Rondo.

An all-star at roughly the same age but a different position or a young prospect (22 yrs old or younger) who I believe will be an all-star.

Salary relief is not a big deal to me in a Rondo deal.

2+3. Favors, Kanter, Drummond, Monroe, etc. plus unprotected pick(s).

I just want a top 10 pick and a young player.

1. MKG and Charlotte pick  (have to take Sessions)
2. Harkless and Orlando pick  (have to take Nelson)
3. Beal and Wizards pick   (have to take Ariza)

Or two young players:

Rondo, Crawford, Sullinger, Nets pick for Sanders/Henson.  (Have to take Caron Butler)

Bucks next year:

Rondo  Knight
Mayo  Crawford  Neal
Lottery Pick   Giannis
Sullinger/Ilaysova
Pachulia  Udoh

Celtics:

Lottery PG   Pressey
Bradley  Lee
Green  Wallace
Henson  Olynyk
Sanders  Vitor

Boston would be in great position to land Marcus Smart or Semaj Christon.  With rondo hurt, Bucks would be in great shape to get top 3 pick.

Sessions is good so that's not really a dump.  Just a nitpick.  I mean maybe he's in the deal anyways, but not really a negative.

If he was our backup PG that'd be a good thing.

Very interesting post.

Personally, I wouldn't deal Rondo just to unload Bass/Wallace and I wouldn't deal him for a lottery pick.

However, if Portland would be willing to swap Lillard for Rondo, then yes I would do that.

I want back a player who I expect will be a multi-time All-Star (or deserve to be) over the next five years.
