I remember a while back, another poster started a thread called "Who's going to be the new KG and Ray Allen?" (or something like that)

So…..IF you see a big name NBA player landing on the Celtics, who's the most likely option?

Here are some possibilities based upon impending free agency,  possible trade candidates, and players that are realistic possibilities in which Ainge could possibly swing a deal for and/or sign (which is why you won't see Melo, Bron or Kobe on the list.)

Also, this doesn't necessarily include this year. It could be next year or even the year after.
I have bolded the names that I could definitely see in green.

-Kevin Love
-Lamarcus Aldridge
-Pau Gasol
-Marc Gasol
-Kyrie Irving
-Zach Randolph
-Rudy Gay
-Roy Hibbert
-Kenneth Faried
-Enes Kanter
-Greg Monroe
-Brook Lopez

If we get any of one of them, Im guessing Monroe or Faried
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Yeah, I'd agree with that. As much as I like Faried, I really don't know how well he fits in with the squad we've got right now.

I think we could pry Kanter from Utah. I know this isn't a big name but I'd love to see Toby Harris in green along with Lance Stephenson.

Well we already passed on Gay before he went to Toronto, and I don't see us going for the older age group of Zbo or Pau. Aldridge would be a good target, and so would Brook Lopez. I can see KG and Pierce getting in his ear before they exit Brookline about what a great place Boston is.

faried is nothing more than a great hustle player, not even close to a big name.

I would love to get Drummond as our top big man, and the Pistons still have interest in Rondo, but I still don't see us prying him away from Detroit. You never know though, Sullinger, Bradley, Humphs contract, and a few 1st rounders is a good package for any team looking to move a big name.

Anthony Davis would be THE ideal target, but we have absolutely no shot at him.

Agreed on Faried, he is by no means a big name player.

I'd say it's the next player we pick in the draft

Maybe a big man older than Rondo on a team that hoped to make the playoffs this season but found itself under .500 at the trade deadline and decided to shift into tank/rebuilding mode.

Carlos Boozer and Kendrick Perkins before the deadline.

Dante Exum in the Draft.

Then Marc Gasol and Lamarcus Aldridge at the 2015 trade deadline by using Boozer/Perk expirings plus some young pieces/draft picks

Rondo
Exum
Green
Aldridge
Gasol
