Brooks showing out right now. Nice defensive play from Pressey tho.

Faverani has ridiculous looking wingspan. I could hate to be a guy underneath the basket with him hovering over me.

He clearly also knows how to use it. Such a better replacement vs Fab

Brooks could you please improve your defense because your scoring is needed.

I got a feeling Brooks is going to be a guy brought in the 2nd half when you need to keep the scoring going. He is a handful to deal with.

In the first half when everyone has energy, Brooks defense is not good enough for him to be effective on the floor.

Bold Predictions

Kelly Olynyk leads the Celtics in assists.

Phill Pressey records at least one block.

Courtney Lee finally rediscovers his three point range, and goes 4-5 from deep.

Tim Hardaway Jr. hits at least one more big shot in the 4th quarter, leading to some murmurs of him being the Bizarro Paul Pierce, set to torment the Celtics for years to come.

Olynk lead the Celtics with 3 assists--tied with Crawford and Green

Pressey had one block.

Courtney Lee shot 1-2 from the three.

I didn't watch most of the 4th Quarter, but he shot 3-16 and the Knicks never lead, so that's a no on Tim Hardaway.

We wouldn't have won this game had NYC stars played.

I thought we attacked better.   Love seeing Bradley shoot from different areas.   Bass finally hit some jumpers.   I thought the whole team looked better.   Green needs to slash more though as he is not a jump shooter.

One thing to keep in mind, Vets are on cruise control during the preseason.  Rookies, 1st year guys, and non guaranteed contract players are going all out.

So before anyone climbs all over Green, Bass, and to some extent Lee, remember they have seen this all many times before and know these games don't count for anything.  Why should Green go flying to the rim and get hurt for a game that means absolutely nothing to him?  He is there to run a bunch, get winded, maybe do some shooting winded, and practice his cheer leading.

While that may be a valid point, it's not a very good way to look at it. If you (Green) is just gonna waste all the minutes he gets by playing on "cruise mode," then why even play. Just give those minutes to others who need it more than you to prove their worth and get a role on the team. Also, this "cruise mode" style of play is awful and a terrible idea. Not only are you wasting all the time you get, but you're also not gonna be ready for the regular season with all those 2-10 and 2-11 performances. He is already out of rhythm and knowing his style of play, he only shoots most of the time.

I have yet to see stars like Kobe, LeBron, Pierce, KG and others play on this "cruise mode" style of play and just not try.

No one expects him to drop 30 or 40 points a night, but at least try to do something.

Work on your left hand game, driving, dribbling and rebounding. With the athleticism and size you have, your rebounding numbers are awful. They don't show "cruise mode" style of play, but lack of effort.

You don't just "turn on" the switch to play great. You need some kind of rhythm. This is like Ray Allen shooting 1-10 every pre-season game and then expecting to shoot 7-10 as soon as the regular season starts. Green won't just suddenly start having great shooting performances when the regular season starts.

He has such a one dimensional game and if his shooting doesn't work, then he doesn't help the team in any other way other than playing decent defense.

I am sure Green knows the Pierce-like expectations that people have placed on him and I hope he does at least something to come anywhere close to those expectations.

It's funny how people would rather have Rondo gone and constantly place him on the trade block instead of Green when you know exactly when Rondo will deliver and it's guaranteed that he will whereas with Green, it's uncertain when he will deliver and if he will be able to deliver.

Good job Celtics fans.
