im curious to hear from those that believe this team can make the playoffs this year.  I just don't see it.  so for those that think they can make the playoffs, what makes you so sure?

I think we can make the playoffs, because I could easily see seven or more teams in the East being worse than us.  Part of this is based on the hope that Rondo returns after no more than twenty games.  With Rondo back, I think this is at least a .500 team.  Say, the young guys manage to win 6 or 7 of the first twenty without rondo, and maybe we eke out 34 or 35 wins in the final 62, that could well be good enough to get us in to the dance.

For me, the Sixers, the Magic, the Bobcats, the Bucks, the Raptors, the Hawks, the Wizards, and the Cavs are all teams that we could realistically beat out for one of the last two playoff spots.

I don't think it's a given, and I definitely think it will be a challenge to make the playoffs, but I do think the opportunity is there.

By the way, I'll pick 42 and 40, but I'll be satisfied with reaching 35 wins.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
19 wins without Rondo
26 wins with Rondo only missing a month.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

A couple of you guys nailed it.  I was 1 off... I thought we'd win 26.

Once again, congrats on the tank job.  Top 8 pick, baby!
