"Ainge believes Scalabrine--who is stongly considering an assistant coaching job with the Golden State Warriors--has a future in coaching and talked in broad terms about the job with him..." Y! Sports

Wait a second...you mean the WHITE MAMBA could have graced the bench with his presence in Boston, breathing gingery life into the hearts and souls of the Celtics family? And we didn't immediately hire him??

Now, I like Brad Stevens, sure. Neat hire, Ainge. But when you have a chance to hire a legend--a sort of transcedent God of the universe--as your head coach...you take that.

We passed on an entire tenures-worth of guaranteed championships...

Whole organization just goin down the pooper.

Old news is old news.

The White Mamba joke has always been funny, but it gets so old, considering the track record Brian Scalabrine had.

Eh, albeit intelligent, I'm pretty sure Brad Stevens is a far far superior hire imo.

Agreed.

I seriously doubt Brian Scalabrine was a honest to god candidate... Nothing about him besides his humorous moniker, was there anything exceptional about him. I get the joke, and he is a likable guy. But besides having 3 top plays or highlights, nothing about this guy says a winner.

Unless we blatantly wanted to tank, then I could see the hire going through.

Obviously Stevens was the better hire. I was joking. I don't think Scal jokes will ever get old for me...he's too pale, too red-haired, and too mediocre to ever not be funny.

I still have my white mamba t shirt around somewhere. Pure gold. Even lakers fans love it. Too bad it doesn't love lakers fans back.

I think Scal knows the game, I am hoping he takes over for Tommy.  I hate Donny, he is very much more a fan of UCONN guys over the Celtics.  I'd much rather Scal in the booth.

Didn't I read that Scal had been offered a position on the Warriors bench?  I haven't heard whether he's accepted or not, so maybe he's holding out to see if Stevens will ask him to join his team.

And yes, Scal's a hundred times easier to listen to than Donny.
