http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--kings-make--56-million-offer-to-andre-iguodala-033449149.html

The offer breaks down to an extra $3 mil more per year than what New Orleans has offered Tyreke Evans.

Pretty bold move by new Sacto management.

When I see a thread title like that, I hear the CSI Miami 'YEAHHHHHH' come into my head.

Probably his last chance at a big payday. Don't know if i would go there if i were him. Would take less to stick with Denver they have a nice core.

asinine move by Kings . This is why you don't sign Josh Smith if you are the C's. Only mediocre franchises that are content with being mediocre make moves like this .

That is only $14 million. You would think someone else would beat that.

The kings are in a much worse spot than us. We get Smith we then have a core of Jeff,Josh,Rondo moving forward and tons of draft picks to move forward with. I don't think it would be asinine for the Celtics to get Smith.

Different cap situations, different roster situations.

It would be one thing to have cap space and spend it on Smith. It's another to be in a situation where you won't have cap space for years to come, and you make a move for someone like Smith.

By the way some people place value on players on this board, your franchise would never acquire a player of note. You'd suck for eternity.

I kinda like the idea of Iggy in Sacramento.

The Kings already have a top talent in place in D.Cousins and maybe another in B.McLemore although I am a doubter. Bringing in a true pro like Iggy who works his socks off and is a top line defender. Someone who is a team first player. An extra ball-handler and playmaker who will involve others. Who will allow others to grow around him. Who knows how to win and will lead by example. Who will show those younger players the way forward. He could be a really good leader there and a great example to Cousins.

That said, I would probably wait another 12 months before making a move like this if I were Sacramento. Right now they v.likely to get another top five pick in next year's draft and could add a third possible star to their young nucleus. I would rather hold out for that and then try to make a move for someone like Iggy.

But still ... there are definitely some things to like about a move like this for Sacramento. If McLemore is the real deal, Sacramento will still be in a very good position to build a Championship Contender down the road even after signing Iggy to a contract like this.

I like Iggy in Sactown since he'll be a great veteran presence to complement a starting lineup that's shaping up to be Thomas, McLemore, Thompson, and Cousins, with Thornton being a sixth man off the bench.

But for $14M? Yeesh...

Teams like Charlotte pursing Al Jefferson and now SAC pursuing Andre are just a few of the usual lottery teams trying to be good next year leaving us with a high possiility of a high draft pick...

Still haven't seen Cleveland make a move yet either. Very likely they do something.
