or is Kaman's contract out?

If Danny goes to rebuild mode and Dallas is wanting to create space, maybe they would be a good trade partner?

#13 pick plus Marion and Kaman for Pierce?

They can buy out Pierce and save some money.

Danny could draft at #13 and #16 or try to move up.  If the plan was to rebuild, I would draft Giannis and Gobert and stash them in Europe for a year.

I'm pretty sure Marion said he wasn't playing for any team but Dallas.

Cuban agreed.

would just want the pick.  Cut Marion.  He can wait and sign back with Dallas later right.  Dec 15th?

Kaman is a free agent.  You would have to do a sign-and-trade, which you can't do until after the July moratorium.  Marion has a ETO.  The deadline for exercising it is June 29.  He can't be traded while that option is still out there.

I don't think that's accurate. Marion has said repeatedly that he'd like to stay in Dallas, and that he's got at least 2 more years left in him, but if Cuban can ship him out of town and get back the room for a max contract, he does it.

Ah, this was what I was talking about:

Yeah, like I said. Marion also didn't say anything about exercising his ETO and resigning with the Mavs on a discount. What he actually said might be the most Shawn Marion thing ever.

OK let me run this one by everybody.

Pierce for Humohries/Brooks/22nd pick.

Not as good as a return from Nets as you could get from Dallas.  Humphries contract would be a good expiring deal to have a year from now.  Do the Nets do this so they can try again to clear space and make another run at Howard or another free agant?

The 22nd pick still leaves room for my idea to take Giannis and Gobert and leave them in Euroball for a year.

You should be asking for Teletovic as part of that deal.

I'd rather just waive Pierce than that.

Now correct me if I am wrong but regardless of whether Marion and Mayo return, Dallas has enough cap space to offer a max contract, correct?
