Now this idea obviously assumed you're a "bring Cousins to Boston" guy.

SAC gets the #1 pick drafts Noel and trades Cousins/Salmons for Rondo.

Rondo
Evans
?
Patterson
Noel

KG and PP would obviously be gone but if we're trading Rondo I'd prefer Cousins to Noel.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

(1) Noel + Cousins would be one heck of a combo to build around.
(2) Noel + Rondo would be one heck of a combo to build around.
(3) Cousins + Rondo would be one heck of a combo to build around.

Sacramento would be sitting pretty no matter which of the three options they choose. Draft Noel and play Cousins and Noel alongside one another. Or trade for Rondo and couple him with either Cousins or Noel.

Sacramento are one of those teams that have enough talent already in place for it to make sense to pursue a guy like Rondo. They'd have a second young star, a big man, to pair with Rondo. Some talented two guards in Tyreke (S+T option) and Marcus Thornton. A couple of young role players like Isiah Thomas, Jason Thompson, Patrick Patterson.

Their GM, Geoff Petrie, has said that they are looking for someone like Rondo. A young veteran with experience who has already shown he can play. Someone who can come in like Chris Webber did 15 years ago and turn their team around. So yeah, I think the Kings would have interest in this type of a swap. So long as their new ownership doesn't fire their front office or tie their hands.

If Sacramento drafts Noel then a frontline in the line up of

Thomas
Evans/Thorton
Salmons
Cousins/Patterson
Noel/Thomas

would be pretty devastating. Young and active down low would be something great for them to build around.

I go for Cousins over Noel.  If he's a headcase, he's at least a smart headcase, which is he kind a take a chance on.
