Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes are very productive NBA player.  Turner and Hawes are young assets who are quality players still improving in this league.  We are talking about 24 and 25 year old players!  I love both of their games.

I wouldn't do this.  If we trade Pierce, we need assets for the future (Turner and Hawes have very limited upside), good draft picks (none are included or likely to be included here), or savings (taking on J-Rich erases that thought).

Doesn't make sense for the Celtics.  I'd trade Pierce for the right young talent, but Turner and Hawes are a few cuts below what I'd want in return.

The issue that keeps seeming to arise in these Pierce scenarios is what people view as fair compensation. While Turner and Hawes have limited upside, they are both fairly young (25) fringe starters who's contracts each expire after next season if Danny chooses to let them walk.

No offense but who in the world is giving up "young assets" or "good draft picks" for a 35 year old Paul Pierce playing on a year to year basis likely?

I'd rather take the risk and try a S&T for the big knucklehead then get these two.

They'd get a steal, but Pierce alone doesn't make them contenders. It'd be a good deal for Philly, but they'd still only be an 8th seed unless Jrue becomes a top-5 player in the league, Bynum resigns and averages 18/13, and they hire a fantastic coach, as well as great role players. I don't see what they can do with Pierce, seeing as he only has a few more years left in him.

That's not really the point though, because as the OP said, they'd likely waive him.

Oh, my bad.

Why trade Evan Turner? He may be a "bust" given where he was drafted, but he's no means a terrible player... he averaged 13.3/6.3/4.3/0.9 which is not bad at all.

His basic line numbers don't look terrible, but make no mistake, he took a significant step back this year from where he was supposed to be. And, he makes 6 million dollars next year. If he doesn't take a fairly significant step forward in 2014, the sixers might not even pick up his option.

Ouch I just looked at his true shooting and effective field goal percentages... they're DREADFUL

On another note, both were higher than Bradley's... albeit by very little. :-\

We already know how much we hate Bradley's shooting, we don't need a second offensively-challenged player.

theyre good "role players" but i would not consider them good players. I wouldnt want to trade stars for glue, i want to trade for difference makers.

Who wouldn't but the reality is that aside from waiting till rondo is healthy and trading him no one on this roster is bring in a star in trade. If pp is traded it will be for smaller younger pieces much like we traded prospects to get kg years ago. We are not trading Paul for a top 30 nba player.

On a side note, I posted this idea on a 76er forum and they pretty much laughed me off the site. They think this package can land a boarderline all star
