Perk finishes the Playoffs with a -0.7 PER, "the worst PER to have ever been posted in the playoffs by a player who saw 200 minutes or more of floor time."

He had as many points as turnovers and only two more rebounds than he had fouls.

Not sure what happens from here with him in OKC.

I don't see why OKC would not amnesty him now. He serves no useful purpose and is eating up significant salary cap space

I can sort of see why OKC kept him this season, because at the beginning of the season their fear was facing Dwight Howard and the lakers in the playoffs, but dang, after the season Perk had, he's amnesty material for sure now. Too bad for OKC they didn't amnesty him last year and keep Harden instead.

Hopefully for them Lamb and PJ3 reach their potential.

Facing Dwight, but also facing Memphis.  I could understand him struggling against Houston some but the Grizzlies?  It's exactly what he was brought in for and he failed badly.

Yep, people easily forget that in 2008 Perk rode the bench during every key stretch of the playoff games too. Posey played with KG, Ray, Pierce, and Rondo when it counted.

He serves no useful purpose...

I don't think this is true at all.  OKC needs somebody to play interior defense for them, and Perk excelled in that role this year.

Now, the question of whether he's worth his contract is a different question entirely.

How did Nick Collison do?

16.24

Collison was also at one point among the leaders in playoff +/- (which means Perk was close to the bottom, because they generally sub for each other).

16.2, with almost all of the good coming against the Rockets however.

Collison was fouling like Steamer/Sully against Memphis:

4 in 20 min
6 in 15 min
5 in 14 min
6 in 21 min
5 in 16 min

That's because he was +29 in game 1 against Houston. Which was a 29 point blow out.

Perkins was +24 that game himself actually.

After that his +/- was pretty ordinary.

No question they should have jettisoned him before this season.

I am not a PER fan, but the eyes don't lie: Perkins is cooked.

Perkins is not a source for PER, never has in his career.

He should have been able to body up the Grizz's big men, I guess losing that weight didn't help him in the long run.

I don't see why OKC would not amnesty him now. He serves no useful purpose and is eating up significant salary cap space

Using the amnesty clause to waive him doesn't free up cap space to sign a replacement, so the question from the Thunder's perspective is whether he would better than a replacement who would almost certainly be a minimum salary guy and, if Perkins is still better, do luxury tax considerations override basketball considerations.

I could see them waiting a year, then trying to see if they can move his expiring contract as part of a package.

They're at 67 million in salary without resigning Martin or making any other moves.

If they're going to sign Martin I imagine that waiving Perkins is going to get a lot of consideration.
