Celtics receive: Demarcus Cousins, John Salmons, J.J. Redick
Celtics send: Paul Pierce, Fab Melo, Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger
Why for Celtics? C’s add a center that could be a star with the proper guidance (KG + Doc). If KG does return, he could mentor Cousins, while moving back to his preferred position of PF. Redick would fill the role of outside shooting that we have lacked since Ray left. Salmons provides depth at SF.
Celtics starting lineup:
PG: Rondo
SG: Redick
SF: Green
PF: KG
C: Cousins
Clippers receive: Paul Pierce, Fab Melo
Clipers send: DeAndre Jordan, Caron Butler
Why for Clippers? Pierce could be just what they’re missing to move forward in the playoffs. Additionally, if it doesn’t quite work out as planned, they will have Pierce’s contract off the books after this upcoming season.
Kings receive: DeAndre Jordan, Avery Bledsoe, Jared Sullinger
Kings send: Demarcus Cousins, John Salmons
Why for Kings? While Cousins is an extremely talented player, Sacramento might just not be the ideal place to maximize his potential. In return they receive a package of young talented players. Plus, they’re the Kings. They’re not too bright.
Bucks receive: Caron Butler, Celtics 2013 1st round pick
Bucks send: J.J. Redick
Why for Bucks? Redick is a free agent. In a sign and trade, at least they get a 1st round pick back. Also, in a year, Butler’s contract can come off the books or maybe they can buy him out right now.
