Westbrook is down. Celtics are (all but) down. Despite the firepower and improved defense of the Knicks, gun to my head, I choose the Heat every time as their roster currently stands. Bulls are missing rose, Nets are a joke. Pacers could give it a fair shot, but they still seem to be Heat fodder.

Not to say the Thunder are guaranteed to stop the Heat if both made it to the finals, but without Westbrook, they certainly don't have a great chance. Are the Spurs currently the anti-Heat favorite if they make it out of the west?

The Spurs and Knicks are the only teams capable.

I'd give the Knicks a 35% chance, and the Spurs a 45% chance.

Baring injuries to LBJ and WADE ...they are hanging LBJ 2nd Banner.

Bank it.

Phil Jackson would come out of retirement in a NY sec to coach LBJ  ( what ever team he plays on at this point)

OKC an't getting it done.

Maybe the Spurs will  give the heat a hard go of it .  1 in 5  chance if Gino returns.

If James falls ...so does the heat.  .....that simple.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Don't sleep on Indiana and the Warriors.

Indy can out physical Miami and have enough athletic guy to bother LeBron.

And the Warriors because, well, Warriors!!!

Out west, the Spurs are best placed to challenge Miami in the finals. Although to me Memphis is the darkhorse if Marc Gasol and Z-Bo keep playing the way they are together, I don't think Miami would have any answer for them as a tandem. Plus seeing Tony Allen guard Wade and his bad knee would be fun to watch.

In the east, Chicago and New York may give Miami a run for their money but I don't think they have the cattle to make a good fist of it.

Recent reports say Amare will play, possibly in round 2, and Rose may be back for the Bulls if they face Miami. If those two guys are back for NY and Chicago, I can see either team giving Miami a run for their money.

The Spurs are definitely on the upswing with Parker rounding back into shape. I feel like the Spurs do in-fact match up better with the Heat given their experience and depth

The thunder were really the only team that could give the heat a series in the finals. Now the spurs will make the finals and they just don't match up with the heat well. The only chance is if Miami suffers a big injury to one of their main three guys. Even then they are still probably strong enough to win.

Let's see what Stoudemire is like coming back in the 2nd round - if Amare is anywhere near 80% the Knicks have a good chance of beating Miami.

This whole season is Rocky 4. We should just never talk about it.

if the knicks try to play defense vs. miami like they have against us, their whole team will foul out within the first quarter.

If Amare comes back the Knicks will lose instantly.

Seriously, I don't know why people still think Amare is any good on that roster. We have a two season sample size, now, and the Knicks universally play worse when Amare gets minutes. He is simply washed up, and it is no coincidence that the Knicks go on their winning streaks every time he goes down.
