My first trade idea... All-Star for All-Star, Atalnta gets their Smoove/RR dream. I would probably want Teague too and they would probably say no. What do y'all think?

I would LOVE to have Al Horford. However, Atlanta says no as they don't need Rondo. They already have Teague and will have a healthy Lou Williams next year.

I'd make the call if I were Ainge. I've loved Horford since college.
But I'd be surprised if Atlanta would do it.

Great trade for us not so good for them. The only thing this type of trade would do for the Hawks is possibly allow them to keep Smith. Teague then could possibly be traded for someting else.

A KG/Horford frontcourt would be difficult for opponents to deal with and a dream for us.
Sadly, dreams don't often come true.
The only real incentive for the Hawks to do this would be having Rondo as an enticement for JSmoove to stay.
I would throw in Sully to do this, as much as I would hate to part with him. If you ever had a chance to get Horford, you gotta do it.
Still think Hawks don't bite, though.

No motivation for Atlanta to make this deal sadly.

Horford alone isn't enough for Rondo. Horford and Teague is probably too much. But if Atlanta actually wanted to keep Smith (which they don't), they'd probably do such a trade.

Atlanta could keep Smith without Rondo, they just don't want to pay him. They might keep Smith, if they could get Rondo and keep Horford as then they would have a pretty nice little trio.
I still think a trade centered around Teague and Williams for Rondo makes a lot of sense

We don't need another 2 in Williams, unless we were just stockpiling assets. Also, I would make them eat Bass' or Terry's contract, give us ZaZa and at least one first or Deven Harris' expiring. I do like Teague, though.

I remember a time in cb history where there were actually debates over who was better: Harris or Rondo - my how times have changed. Anyway, if we aren't getting back Horford, there is no reason to make a trade with Atl. Rondo would easily be the best player in the above proposed trade and he is on a fairly cap-friendly deal. I have no desire to take on spare parts for Rondo.

I have to say yes to this. Horford and KG would be dangerous. Atlanta might say yes to this... Rondo coming to ATL could keep Josh Smith, it would bring them another All-Star, and it would give them somebody to create offense that isn't isolation-driven.

Love Horford. one of the few players I'd move Rondo for. Agree with other poster that Horford's not enough for him though. would have to be something along the lines of Horford/Teague for Rondo/Bass/Melo.
even though Horford plays center for Atl, he's really a PF. the thing about this deal is while I think Rondo can be a primary building block for a team, I think Horford's a step down in that regard --> an almost-building-block.
