Hopefully Shav can continue to get minutes.  Lord knows we could use a tall guy who can rebound.

Shavlik played for Duke, so you know he has a high bbiq.  Once he learns the defense, I'd like to see him as the 4th big.  This man is not a scrub.

Reading Shavlik's bio - his problem has never been lack of talent or smarts.

This kid has just had an unbelievable bad run of weird, unlucky injuries at bad times for his career.

If he could stay healthy - who knows?  Maybe he can finally resurrect the NBA career that he was supposed to have several years ago?

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Very solid outing for Shavlick tonight.

If he can rebound like that consistently, he'll get his minutes.

Shavlik played for Duke, so you know he has a high bbiq.

Just an observation: you can't spell "bbiq" without the words "I bbq." That's a fact.

6pts and 8rebs.....not too shabby!

He was unfortunately only 1 for 6 on the patented Vlade Divac "flail your hands up after catching the ball under the basket, in hopes of drawing a foul" move. He should've left that one in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Ahahahahahahahahaha.

But he also did this in very limited minutes (8rebs in 15min is very good if maintained).

He could be a steal, or simply playing hard in hopes of getting signed for the rest of the season. I will be very disappointed if he gets a contract and plays terrible a la Bass earlier this season,

I had to edit my post.  The above happened 2 years after Russel had retired.  My question to him was in the context of why he as the coach had kept Finkel on.  My original post actully made it sound as if he was still involved with the C's in 1971. Sorry

Henry J. "Hank" Finkel:
Quote
He played six years for the Celtics (1969-70 – 1974-75).
Tommy would answer the question similarly.

tp for the link to the story. it was a fun read for me since i remember hank playing for the celtics.

as for this thread, is there any better example of how cb can get so high, or low, over the 15th guy on the roster?  ;D

if the shav era actually extends into next season, i would be happy that ainge picked some up with the talent to stay around. if shav gets shaved after this year, then so be it. it isnt as if he cost the celtics much of anything in the first place.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Too early to determine anything substantial for Shavlik.
