While I'm not the founder or co-founder (for that matter) of the Shavlik Randolph fanclub, cut the guy some slack. Before he got into the Bobcats game, he hadn't played in almost three weeks.  In the Cats game, he rebounded at a decent rate and tried to put his body on people, hit a nice jump hook, and made a 20-footer late in the game. He's shown that he's willing to mix it up and that he can score if need be as well.  Unless someone goes down, he's not going to be part of our playoff rotation anyway.  Until then, I personally am okay with what he brings to the table.

Emergency depth can never hurt. Plus, he can be traded like Sean Williams eventually.

cut him some slack.. he got 1 reb out of 2.5 mins in the Raptors game... not bad compare to Bass' 7rebs out of 20+ mins...:P

I think that's actually a fairly good number.

At least it's awesome for him. I'd take 7 (it's actually 6 tonight) boards in 30 or less minutes from Bass all day. He used to go 2, 3 or 4 in those minutes.

Very pleasantly surprised for Bass's production in the past 3 games. Keep it up Bass!  :-X

This.  He's the kind of player the C's most need depth on in case of injury, and I think it unlikely they'd find someone enough better at this point to add the distraction of trying to acclimate anew.

The guy's only had one regular practice yet as a Celtic.  I think we should adjust our expectations and give him a chance.  They'll have a better idea about him next week anyway.

Looks taller than expected but seems lost with the pace of the NBA game.  On the other hand he tries to make plays, plus he averaged 32 pts, 14.6 rebounds in China this year?  Better than Fab, because he has half a brain and better than Sean Williams who is bad because he just doesn't try!

I'm baffled at how you think this deserves it's own thread.

No it wasnt. I just find it pretty funny that the celtics gave this guy 30-60k for 10 days of basketball ineptitude. A wage that the average person makes in a year.

Celticsblog threads have been made about lesser topics. With that said I do understand that every single thread on here must have provocateurs that poke holes in every argument, big or small.  :-\
