Haha nice work. I'm pretty sure they had to do some sort of testing to get Bismack Biyombo's actual age aswell. Everyone thought he was in his 30's aswell.

UC Irvine lands 7-foot-5 Mamadou Ndiaye

UC Irvine basketball is going big time. For the second time in as many recruiting classes, the Anteaters landed a 7-footer.

Mamadou Ndiaye -- a native of Senegal who is playing this year for Brethren Christian in Huntington Beach, Calif. -- just big. He’s a big-time recruit. He’s ranked as the No. 14-overall recruit by 24/7 Sports but ranked No. 79 by ESPN and No. 84 by Rivals.com.

Ndiaye (7-5, 320) picked Irvine over offers from Georgetown, Oregon and Pepperdine. He signed with coach Russell Turner’s team on Wednesday, the first day recruits can sign national letters of intent.

“I’ve watched him a lot. He’s a legit prospect,” Turner told ESPN. “A lot of the high school evaluators don’t ever see a guy like this. When you’re in the NBA, you see some talents and projected possibilities.

“I’m really excited for what this kid can be. He’s not there yet, but he’s overwhelmingly big. And, he can guard the rim. There’s a restricted area we’re going to call ‘The Mamadou’ and that’s where he’s going.”

He is a strong offensive rebounder and shot-blocker but is beginning to show good post moves, especially a drop-step, according to Turner. He is a raw giant but with obvious upside.

Ndiaye will be the second legit 7-footer on Irvine’s roster, joining Conor Clifford, who signed last spring. The Anteaters are on an uptick, too. The club beat Nevada by 14 in its season opener Saturday and then took 13th-ranked UCLA into overtime Tuesday before losing by one.

I've seen YouTube clips of him dominate competition who are way shorter than him. He moves so slow, and still looks raw when it comes to skill.

But he indeed has the intimidating size already, it's just a matter of seeing him against the big boys in college.

If we are not drafting a big this year, AJ Hammonds is the one Danny should look at next.

ROFL it looked like he was playing against middle school kids.  That's how much smaller they were than him.  It was just dunk and layup drills for him all game long.  They probably pulled him after he got them a 50 point lead.

Coach - OK, that's enough embarrassing them for now, I guess we'll put in our subs.

Physically the guy is imposing of course.  But you've got to ask why he picked Irvine instead of a big school like Georgetown?  Did Georgetown not offer him a full ride athletic scholarship?

Actually this is the guy there coach always says things like "don't worry about him just box out" or "you don't have to block his shot, just out your hand in his face and it'll bother his shot" and you're just shaking your head and cursing your coach the whole time.

On a side note, this reminds me of coaching my sons 6 year old team with 8 foot rims...I dominated the entire team one day.

That video was a train wreck. There were multiple things that were sorta painful to see. I don't know but he did look about 37. Also there's just something about him going up against a bunch of Asian high school kids half his height.  And then when he left he almost hit his head on the doorway.   I feel like he was going to cry.
