There aren't tall guys who can play just hanging around.  God I wish people would figure that at out some point.

I'll take 6' 9" but can play.  This was Sully, if we don't remember.

Is it too much to ask for just one guy with length?

Thank you!
Just some one 6'11" or taller

Ditto.

That's basically all there is to say. Not many would be 6'11 and better than Fab

Amundson is a 6'9" guy who rebounds and blocks shots at an above-average rate.  Would you prefer a 6'11" who does both at a worse rate?

Dont want a worse player
But if Celtics can get a guy 6'11" or taller with equal skill as Amundson, why not get that guy? Size matters

Its like Brendan Haywood. He's equal in talent to Amundson.  He came in handy in 2011 when the Mavs faced the Lakers and Heat. Big enough to defend Bynum and big enough to keep Lebron and Wade out of the paint

Unless you have Big Baby's wide size, a 6'9" guy is basically a taller small forward

And the point is: where is this 6' 11" guy that you are hypothetically speaking of?

Answer: he doesn't exist on the market right now.  If he did, why wouldn't Danny want him?  Seriously.

And your comment about 6'9" is quite false.  1" makes you a PF or not?  How do you explain Rodman?  How do you explain Sully on our own team?

Can't see why he'd want to choose the other options over us..I think we need him more and despite records have as good a shot to make a run

If I was him Id pick the heat and knicks over us. Why would he choose here?

Mmm I see us as having more minutes for him then any of those teams? And besides the heat I'm sorry but I think we can advance further then the Knicks

As a celtics fan I can see why you feel that way but most outsiders don't.

No thanks---he's shooting 20% FT's(4-20), career 44%! 36% FG's. Rather get a good DLeaguer--DSummers maybe, or somebody at least 6'11".

Celtics can offer him neither team can. Playing time.

I think it depends on if he cares about playing more than winning a championship.

Think it's a lot closer decision than you are giving credit (also the knicks, if you are being generous maybe have a 10% better chance of winning a title anyway)

Timothy Mozgov certainly isn't interested in the heat:

Also wasn't JO just talking about how he doesn't want to ride the coattails of a contender?

I think that most outsiders have a much higher opinion of the Celtics franchise than you seem to.

A lot of the 7 footers out there right now have very little basketball ability or coordination.

Grabbing someone just because they're big or tall is ridiculous. Stop overrating 3rd and 4th string 7 footers.

And not to mention:

A. I don't think a 7 footer or someone like that is necessary or even vital when matching up against the Heat.

and B. If you don't think we can get by the Heat anyway than it doesn't really matter who we pick up.

Amundson is an effort guy. He will give us his heart and soul. He can and will run the floor when given a chance. Much rather that from 6'9" guy than a Mikki Moore type who is athletic and long but no motor with no clue.

Mozgov and Fesenko are stiff's but they do play hard in the post. They are also both foul magnets. I would still take one of them on a 10 day just for the big body.

Summers also might be worth a 10 day look. Wouldnt expect much though.

Sure could use the Steamer right about now. ;D
