Trying to find another comparison because I just think he's more aggressive and less ridgid than Hawes.

Im just a pup so I never got to see him play, but does anyone detect a hint of Sam Bowie? Runs hard, cuts hard, rudimentary yet effective post moves.  I guess he'll never be the athlete or defender Bowie was, but the documentary on Bowie reminded me of what I've seen from Olynyk.

Mix 1/2 cup of Hawes and 1/2 cup of Scola plus a pinch of Nowitzki = Olynyk.

I almost wanted to say Scola earlier, but yes I like this comparison a lot.

We won't compare this white player to one white player... we will compare him to three at once!

after this recent 5 game losing streak , and with KG out , it looks like the c's are going to have a chance to draft this kid.

He reminds me of a bigger Scola (not just because of the hair)

Would love to add him to sully as another young big .

Sully + Olynyk would be like having two scola's on the court. Skilled but slow bodies. Both are starting material

With a big strong but avg mobile body in sully , we need a mobile pf/c with length to balance , complement

I don't so Olynyk is not athletic at all and maybe is Greg Osterag the 2nd.  He is so soft and plays below the rim.   I think he like Adam Morrison benefitted from the system rather than he is dominant player.   We all know how Morrison did in the pros...

This is fair assessment both pros and cons:

I don't he is tough enough or athletic enough for the pros.   You sit on his fakes and he would be easy to block.  If I can see this you know darn well pro scouts can see it.

Scola has a physical element to him that Kelly does not.  He also is a much better rebounder than Olynyk.  I think he will be drafted and go straight to the DL.   He did not play in front of Sacre who is pine ridden on the LA bench.

He is not that good guys.  He is another dominant college player who won't cut it in the pros.   I think he 1/2 Danny Ferry and 1/2 Joe Kliene.  Both equally dominant college big men who didn't cut it in the pros for long.

Wichita St whipped his tail. Take a pass on Robert Swift Jr.

Wichita St whipped his tail. Take a pass on Robert Swift Jr.

He scored 26 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. His team got whipped understood, but he did not fizzle.

If we're using that logic, then Otto Porter, a projected top 10 pick should get passed by teams as well since his team got WHIPPED by FGCU. He didn't even reach round of 32.
