Al Jefferson should have slapped him around for saying that...

I think that Al was praising Pierce too much.

Evidently, he is a player for the Jazz who made a shot.

We might as well put Tyrion in at center.

With the 16th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select Daenerys Targaryen (and her 3 dragons + 8000 Unsullied) from the continent of Essos!

Some Jazz fans are complimenting Burks for his comments, saying they show confidence and swagger.

I say it makes him look like an idiot who doesn't respect those who have come before him.

LOL.  PP owned the Jazz in the 4th/OT.  I think its sour grapes from a player who doesn't want to admit greatness even when he sees it used to devastating effect against his team.

Not a big deal. Paul Pierce isn't a big name to non-sports fans to be honest. I'm sure non-sports fans know Kobe (duh), LeBron (duh), Ray Allen (duh), KG (duh), but Pierce is relatively unknown to many young bloods

Before I got into basketball I knew who pierce was. Had no idea who ray allen was or KG for that matter.

you had heard of PP but not KG? wow. I had heard of KG just by seeing SI.

** Burks, asked what it’s like to be playing against a star (Paul Pierce) having a great night: He’s nobody to me, you know? He made some shots. Everybody make shots, you know? It’s just he got a bigger name than everybody else.

I didn't even know who Alec Burks was and I watched the game last night.

hey op you should work for the media.

I hardly see what he said (all what he said) as disrespect.

Nah, I'd rather not.
I was not instigating anything with this post.
I saw his quote and I thought it was topic worthy.
And Celtic news.
A good conversation starter.
Hence you are here and having we're having a conversation about it.

Why don't YOU work for the media?

Al Jefferson gave Jeff Green a fist bump after he dunked on his head and put him on a highlight reel/poster for all time.  So yeah.

Key words "BEFORE I GOT INTO BASKETBALL" keep that in mind. Only reason I heard of pierce is because I saw people with paul pierce jerseys on alot. Never saw a garnett jersey.

Where others see confidence, I see insecurity.  I think confident players can acknowledge the greatness of others, even if they think they're on the same level.

I mean, where did Paul get his "Truth" nickname?  From Shaquille O'Neal, a top-10 player all-time.  Shaq wasn't too insecure to acknowledge Pierce's greatness.
