Tom Brady signed a three year extension in what is basically a sweetheart deal for the Pats, and creates more financial flexibility for the Pats this year and going forward.

Some details here: http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=bostonnew-england-patriots&id=4740260

Enough room to sign all four of
Welker
Vollmer
Talib
Ed Reed
?

Doubtful, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Celtics fan for life.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Miles Austin is a name I want to see us bring in. There is a rumor that Dallas will have to cut him to get under the salary cap.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

They would be wise to spend the found money on defense and run blocking.

This is the sort of thing that makes the Patriots the best organization in football.

Can't help wishing such a maneuver were possible in the NBA, though.

Rumor has it the patriots and welker are working on a 5 year contract. I saw that on twitter idk how true it is. Yeah tho brady once again putting his money where his mouth is. He wants another ring more than ever and hes proving it.

brady is such a class act. A true winner and champion, someone who only cares about the game. He has all the money in the world, he just wants to win.

Really awesome move by Tom, and the motivation for his competitive spirit and work-ethic should no longer be in question. This frees up like what, fifteen mil? Love this guy.

Man, Mike & Mike are going way out of their way this morning to make as little of this as possible ... to downplay Brady and make as many excuses for others not doing similar as they possibly can. They also made a direct comparison to Lebron being vilified for doing "the same thing" ... I mean, hello, guys, LBJ kissed off his own team and city, and that's why he was vilified ... not remotely the same thing! Greeny's anti-Patriot bias is alive and well.

I'm sure it's good for the team, but it's a win-win situation -- the contract is fully guaranteed.
