I think the plan is to get as many skilled or improving basketball players as he can and hope that Doc can make it work. Even after three season ending injuries we have a better bench than last year.
I think that's exactly the plan--though also with an expectation that a number of such gathered assets would ultimately need to be traded away to get a superstar or two.
(And longer term, I actually think Bledsoe and Jordan both have a chance to become real stars in the league.)
