I know there is already a thread on green starting, but this is more of a find a backup sf thread

With the addition of Crawford, and having terry on the bench, there is plenty of scoring . I think Green makes our starting lineup much more dynamic . Put Bass on the bench where he belongs

In the East Lebron, Melo, Josh Smith are all playing PF . I think Green makes to much sense .

a bench of Crawford, Terry, and Bass is a solid 8 man rotation

So how about finding just 1 big man, and getting another wing to backup PP

so who are the best sf's who are free agents and possible buyouts?

Green can play starter-minutes off the bench. Same PT, but he gives us a spark.

Here's a list of sf free agents from hoopshype

Quote
Da'Sean Butler, Josh Childress, Ryan Gomes, Joey Graham, Donte Greene, Mike Harris, Lazar Hayward, Damion James, JaJuan Johnson, Kris Joseph, DJ Kennedy, Dominic McGuire, Jamario Moon, Adam Morrison, Larry Owens, Bobby Simmons, Al Thornton, Alando Tucker, Bill Walker and Shawne Williams.

I like Gomes and Butler off that list

Tmac is still over in china I think ?

Hmmm gonna go look for possible buyouts

Maybe Terrence Williams can play it? He is a very good passer and ball handler from what I have seen. Fits good facilitating for Terry and Crawford.

Not sure if he is big enough to play sf regularly though..

Not sure Warrick is really a sf, more like an uptempo pf , I really like Joseph in the pre-season ,don't think is ready prime time yet though ?

TP for the 'passing' comment. That was definitely something I noticed he was doing very well. He seems to keep the ball moving, which is impressive since he is essentially playing for a longer term contract.

That is not to say that I think he is definitely 'the guy'. I would like to see Gomes in here, but I like what I see so far...

What the heck happened to Josh Childress ?

Quote
Childress signed a one-year non-guaranteed contract with the Brooklyn Nets on September 13, 2012.[9][10] On December 29, 2012, Childress was waived by the Nets

He was such a solid player just 4 years ago, and is still only 29.

No we don't, Terrence Williams can cover 1-3. Very versatile player.

When I was younger a coach said to me who finishes is more important than who starts. In any games that are close Jeff Green is usually our four down the stretch.

It's funny he looked wildly overpaid to start the year and he is potentially looking like he will be underpaid for the life of his contract.

Key thing to keep in mind: the player doesn't need to be a scorer but can be a D oriented player. We now have enough scorers (streaky though they may be).

Why can't you start Green and have Pierce  be his backup? Do you all think Pierce would be willing to do this?

I think Pierce, if he is brought back/returns, would be willing to do this next year.  But players like routines, and I don't think he'd like to find a new routine in the middle of the season, especially having started for so long.
