Chris Forsberg:

Crawford flew from the nation's capital to Phoenix (connecting through Atlanta) and arrived here around 2 a.m. Short on sleep, he took his physical this morning and coach Doc Rivers said he'll be on the floor this evening against the Suns.

"We have no choice," quipped Rivers, whose injury-depleted roster is begging for healthy bodies. Rivers hopes Crawford can provide an immediate scoring punch off the bench with his no-conscious offensive approach.

"Listen, he’s a scorer. Most scorers don’t have a conscious -- and that’s a good thing," said Rivers. "What you try to teach him is the different between a good [shot] and a bad one. But you don’t want to take away –- if he’s a great scorer, great scorers make bad shots. So a lot of times you just live with it, unless you think it’s hurting the team."

Jordan Crawford is not short on confidence and nerves are rarely an issue for him on the basketball court. But the 24-year-old guard admitted he got a monster case of the butterflies when he learned he had been traded to the Boston Celtics Thursday.

"I was nervous; I didn’t know how to take [the trade news]," Crawford said after joining the team for its shootaround Friday morning at the United Airways Center. "Boston Celtics -- that carries a lot of weight. I was anxious, nervous, hands sweating -- all that."

I sometimes forget how truly lucky we are to be a 'part' of a franchise that carries so much weight around the league. All Boston teams are full of lore and it is always great to hear how happy / nervous players are to come here.

Glad to hear his reaction. Humble and appreciative. Nervous, even. A good game tonight could go a long way in a possible positive start here with us. I bet a lot of practice competition between him, Terry, & Williams for that 6th man scorer role off the bench can only lead to good things for the C's. Especially down the stretch, heading for the Playoffs. Can't wait. Welcome aboard #27.

I know he dunked on yebron in college and he's a scorer. Other than that i don't know much about his personality or confidence. He's had some questionable relationships with former coaches.. So i hear, but so have many others that have worn Green.

After talking with a few Wiz fans (and NBA fans in general), it's pretty clear this guy thinks he's the king of the world. He takes shots no matter how tough, and doesn't back down from anyone (including an incident with KG over the summer). He's also unmotivated on the defensive end.

But I still think he's a great player and a worthwhile pickup. I see him scoring 10ppg and averaging the second-most assists on this team (behind Pierce).

I'll take that. I also seriously doubt he will have any "issues" here. The organization is too solid up and down.

Also, if he comes anywhere near those numbers you threw out there, he could be a real difference maker. For a team that seemingly can go cold at any moment added scoring punch is always a plus.

I'm honestly curious to see if his defense is as bad as they say. I bet he just never learned rotating at a lower level. If he can pick that up, he could be passible at least. Clearly he's quick & athletic enough. Things can always be improved if that's the case.

all he needs to do is fill in for barbosa... get us 8-14 off the bench.

Actually a pretty daunting task.  Barbosa was a huge part of our post-rondo win streak.

He is super-athletic. It's his drive that is underwhelming.

He's been playing like Rondo was earlier this season >_> Doesn't contest many shots according to the Wiz reports

I hope he plays well. Hopefully he can be the scorer off the bench that we expected from Terry. I like our bench wings though.

Terry
Crawford
Williams
Green

should be a fun lineup to watch. I hope we keep Williams as well. Looked decent pushing the ball and pretty fast.

This. I love his reaction. He clearly wants to play well and impress

Shouldn't be too hard to keep your hand straight up in the air as you close out. If he can't learn to do that then that's alarming. But i think this organization will have no problem sitting him if that's the case. I hope those habits don't follow him here. I'm sure the vets will get in his ear. In a positive manner, but negative if need be.

For those of you questioning his defense, Barbosa wasn't one for defense before he got here either.  Playing on really bad teams can do that to you.  Barbosa definitely shaped up and I was pretty impressed with his effort on defense.
