Houston's showing a willingness to move rookie Terrence Jones for a 1st-round pick, sources tell Y! Rockets are deep at forward spot.

Barbosa + Collins + 1st + cash (for buyouts)

for

Terrence Jones

Jones is likely to be a better prospect than anybody we'll get at 15 or 16 in this upcoming draft.  If the Rockets are willing to dump him for a mid first round pick, I say let's go for it.  He might even help give us some depth at PF over the rest of the season.

And please don't tell me that losing Collins is too big of a deal.

meh.  t-jones averaged 18 ppg for a championship Kentucky team.  nobody we're likely to get at 15 or 16 or 17 in this weak draft is likely to have a better resume.

jones would have been a mid to late lottery pick in this draft.

Yeah, I would be happy with that.

Terrence Jones is a solid prospect. Hard to do better than him with the C's pick this summer.

saw him play in Portland. Clearly has an nba body but overall wasn't very impressed.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

He has the potenial to be a good player. I watch him in every game while he was at Kentucky. His problem is that he is hardheaded. Hard to motivate. Get him on the right team and he would be a good guy to come off the bench. I would trade a mid 1st for him b/c this year draft class is soooo bad
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Can't give up Collins right now. I'd keep the pick and try to sell them Melo.

Who's a more valuable player in 2 years, Collins or Melo?

No other consideration is important to me.

If the Cs need to give up a dried up husk like Collins, who only helps them a little bit right now (in an effectively lost season) to get a future asset, I say yes.  Yes.  A thousand times yes.

I love a deal like this. This is the type of deal we need to make, something to put us in a better position NEXT season, not a blow up. Terrence Jones impressed me at Kentucky. His percentages are concerning, but I looked at his game log and it looks like a lot of 0-1 and 0-2, so he just isn't getting shots up consistently enough to build a percentage. I feel like he's so similar to Jeff Green, he could learn from Green & PP & KG.
