The Denver Nuggets rejected an offer of Brandon Roy and a first round pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Timofey Mozgov, according to sources.

The Nuggets are motivated to trade Mozgov, who will be a restricted free agent this offseason and is unlikely to be retained.

Minnesota wants to include Roy in a trade because he is not expected to play again and his 13-14 contract is non-guaranteed.

Wow, I would think a 1st rounder is good value for Mozgov. What do they expect to get for him?

If the Nuggets are expecting to get more than a 1st round pick and an expiring for Mozgov, I think they're kidding themselves.

Wow, I would think a 1st rounder is good value for Mozgov. What do they expect to get for him?

they got a lot of shooting guards
lyson
brewer
iggy
hamilton
fournier

why get an injured roy
good move by minnesota
bad trade for nuggets

what they need is a PF
who can back-up farried

example
brandon bass gets 8 rebounds and 6 points today's game
farried got 16 rebounds today
that would be nice for them
look out there nuggets nation some fans are saying we really need a back-up pf

+ roy contract is very huge, huge than bass contract

Exactly.  And also agree with all other posters here except Krook.  The deal isn't about Roy.  It's about getting a first rounder (from a bad team!) for a player who isn't even in their rotation.

It sounds like they think they can get more for him a year from now if they match an offer sheet, that they think it unlikely he will be given a ridiculous offer sheet (I presume they would match a full MLE deal), and that perhaps they will be shopping Javale McGee in the off-season to see if they can get a better return for a player they may see as too lazy and stupid to be a fundamental building block for the future.

That looks a great offer from Mozgov. I wonder why they rejected it.

Maybe it has something to do with Roy's contract. I'd like to know more about the non-guaranteed stuff. It was meant to be fully guaranteed when he signed it. Had a health clause apparently. I wonder what the details are. If they are getting in the way.

and as everyone said draftees for 2014 are aren't that good + the real reason is they want to trade randolph too in a package,

no one will trade for randolph alone...
they want a package

mozgov randolph
fournier hamilton etc etc;
to match the salary

this is a wise moved for minnesota
who wins this?
minnesota of course
they got a center who can play beside pekovic or if ever pekovic won't be resign
lots of options for them

1st round picks?
ah naaaa
i want a player who can help us pf, that is what they need pf
mozgov for picks
is a dumb trade
even how many times you try it 2k13
won't happen
even if you are not in a hard cap
they will get pick a player who is not useful for them?
they might also released roy next season because no one will take him

if its rondo + picks i will do it....
roy injury is really serious
if i say mozgov for thompson or seraphin i'd do it, that is what we need

and mozgov wants to play, if you put him on minnesota he will just be sitting there because pekovic is there
while in a team like atlanta or houston or clippers he can be a starter of the team even in cleveland....
good moved by nuggets, i'm not really impress in 1st round picks...maybe its between 15 or 10 but i heard the pick was 24 below, if i trade mozogv, its for a player that we really need , and roy is getting 10million so if thats the case they might just resign mozgov because they are not sure if he can or will still play basketball

or mozgov for d. williams

I would have took that offer in a heartbeat Mozgov isn't a top flight prospect and taking another pick could easily yield a better player.
