Full disclosure... got this idea straight from b/r. I don't want to trade PP or KG but my gut suspects that Danny will try to "get some value" for KG and PP @ the deadline...

if that's the case I want more than Bledsoe and Jordan for KG and San Antonio's spare parts for PP (as I've heard discussed on forums).

BOS TRADES
Garnett
Pierce

BOS GETS
Bogut
Barnes
Jefferson
Ezeli

Discuss.

Jordan at 3 years $10.5 mil?

Or swap PP (2 yrs $16.7 mil) and KG (3 yrs $11.5 mil) for downgrade of Jefferson (2 yrs $10 mil) and Bogut (2 yrs $13 mil) plus Harrison Barnes for 4 years at low $ and Ezili for 4 years at low $.

We've got pg by committee this year and RR coming back next season, why do we need Bledsoe?

Why would Golden State make this trade?  They trade a young excellent player in Barnes and others (including an All Star caliber Cnter if he can stay healthy)  for 2 players that are definitely on the downward side of things.  You never make that rade if you're GS.  Plus there's no way KG would accept that trade.

I think Golden State would make that trade because of the following lineup:

Garnett
David Lee
Paul Pierce
Klay Thompkins
Steph Curry

I was thinking more along the lines of

GS gets KG/Pierce
Bos gets Lee, Thompson, Jefferson and Draymond Green

Lee is a great player to rebuild around and I think maybe GS considers this to get from under his 4 year salary.

I disagree bro.

Barnes and Ezeli are solid players on cheap price. Bogut is one of the best defensive big men in the league when healthy. Jefferson is a player option so he will expire in two years.

I hate trading KG and Paul, but this trade I'm willing to do. We're getting an established Center, two solid bench guys and a starter rookie that has potential to be good.

No way they would do it.  That's a GM gettign fired type trade.  That's a win it all now trade and that lineup wouldn't get it done for you...

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
I'd love to get Barnes, but that trade is too big of an overhaul for it to happen imo

He's healthy now isn't he?

He doesnt have nagging injuries. His injuries were both season ending but not on same body parts. He can stay healthy.

Since this seems like the nightly crazy/largely unrealistic rebuild thread, here's my contribution:

This week, a BOS/LAC/GSW/MIL trade:

Boston gets:
Harrison Barnes
Klay Thompson
Eric Bledsoe
Lamar Odom
Richard Jefferson
Beno Udrih
LAC 2013 1st round
MIL 2014 1st round top 10 protected

LAC gets:
KG

Golden State gets:
Paul Pierce
Matt Barnes
Mil 2013 2nd round
Better of BRK/BOS 2014 second round

Milwaukee gets:
Jason Terry
Brandon Bass

Boston then signs Greg Oden with full BAE.

Boston drafts Kelly Olynck and somebody late in the first round who probably doesn't pan out.

This summer, BOS/DEN/ATL trade:

Boston gets:
Kenneth Faried
Al Horford

Denver gets:
Rajon Rondo

Atlanta gets:
Ty Lawson
Fab Melo

2013-2014 lineup looks like this:

PG: Bledsoe/Bradley
SG: Thompson/Lee
SG: Green/Barnes/Jefferson
PF: Faried/Sullinger/Olynck
C: Horford/Oden

The other 2013 draft pick is on that roster somewhere.  The cost for 13 players is $55.3 mil, so depending on the cap, there is a little room with two available roster spots.  Alternatively, Jefferson could be waived via the stretch provision, which would put the salaries at $48 mil, which is a lot of cap room considering they'd be two deep at every position.

So yes, that's my wacky rebuild idea, that certainly has a lot wrong with it (like willing trade participants aside form the Clippers.)
