Monta had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 10 ASSISTS, 2 steals last night. If he had this fake Bulls teams he would have beaten ATL with that kind of stat line. And we all know he can do better than that.
Haters gonna hate!
Ideally, Monta could be moved to the bench. Jamal Crawford used to have the same reputation he did. Now, he's seen as a super-sub and 6th Man candidate. In the right setting -- and I think you have that setting -- I think Monta could be successful. I'd like to see a better point guard, though. I wasn't a huge fan of the Chauncey pick.

I think Monta is okay as PG. He's not going to be able to set teammates up but he will find them when they are open, And Chauncey, he's alright. Veteran leadership, shooting, outside of the mistake I made with his salary, I think he's a fine pickup.

Looking for feedback on Portland
G: Damien Lillard, R.Sessions F: Nic Batum F: Thabo Sefolosha, K.Singler F: Nick Collison, B.Bass C: LaMarcus Aldridge, J.Valanciunas I think it is very similar to the current Blazers team. A few differences between the two teams though: - A more polished big man prospect in Valanciunas instead of M.Leonard
- An upgrade on Portland's second starting wing with Thabo Sefolosha there instead of Wes Matthews
- Nick Collison instead of JJ Hickson who gives the Blazers much better interior and team defense
- An above average bench instead of the garbage Portland has been fielding this year.
I think those differences give your squad more value. Probably 10-12 extra wins. I think Portland is on something like a 35 win pace so that would bring you up to the mid-40s win wise. And having a strong prospect like J.Valanciunas over a raw prospect like M.Leonard gives your squad a much more, emm ... tangible future. Something you can depend on. Build around with expectations. L.Aldridge and J.Valanciunas will be a very effective big man combination in the long term. Their size and length is going to be an intimidating factor for whoever plays against you. Combined with two big wings in Batum and Thabo and Portland clearly has the early stages of a top notch defensive (and rebounding) team down the road. A probable title contender in another 2-3 years time.

Dirk was good today, but Kobe was better. 38 Pts, 12 Reb, 7 Ast, and oh yeah, the victory.

Jeff Green: 31 points, 7 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists, 2 steals That's what I'm talking about! Memphis can be a contender if he keeps that up.

Yeah, I think you have loads of jump-shooting.
I would be more concerned with getting a different type of PG behind Calderon. Preferably a dribble drive type player. Someone who will be more aggressive as an attacker rather than a facilitator. Someone who will get into the middle and kick it out to those great jump-shooting big men and Danny Granger. More dribble penetration.
I need the same thing on my team behind Jarrett Jack.
I think I accomplished that by picking up Kemba as my 6th man off the bench. With the shooting big men drawing the rim defenders away from the basket I think Kemba will be pretty devastating coming off the bench.

Yeah, definitely. Not really sold on Kemba as a starting PG but I think he will make a top flight change of pace PG off the bench. A terrific contrast to Calderon off the bench. Gives you that dribble drive threat. That extra weapon offensively. Kemba will be fantastic in that role.

All Granger did tonight was steal valuable minutes from Lance Stephenson.
Kidding (Im not kidding)...
Im psyched that he is playing. Of course he's going to be rusty, but almost 20 minutes off the bench first game back is pretty fantastic.
