Alright, I have my top 7 filled out now.  I'd love some opinions/suggestions.

PG:  Tony Parker
SG:  Danny Green / Monta Ellis
SF:  Caron Butler
PF:  Tristan Thompson / Earl Clark
C:   Pau Gasol

I like the chemistry and combined skill-set in the starting backcourt. Ellis is an expensive 6th man, but I know you're looking to move him, so I won't belabor the point.

I like the frontcourt rotation a lot too. Clark and Thompson as energetic glass cleaners with the offensively talented Gasol.

Butler I am not as crazy about. Not sure what kind of talent is still on the board at SF, though: he may be the most accomplished scorer still there. Still, I'd like to see more quickness/defense there. You could also select a defensive minded SG and shift Green to SF.

Overall, I like it.

I was under the impression that Butler was solid defensively.  Was I wrong about that?

Chicago Bulls: After 4

PG - Andre Iguodala  / Chauncey Billups
SG - Joe Johnson
SF - Luol Deng
PF - Elton Brand
CD - Joakim Noah

Now that a floor general and a great leader (and shooter) has been added, this tough defensive team will have a much better flow on offense.

Yeah, if healthy, Chauncey is a great PG option for the group I think. And you now have a legit combination of guards and wings to play Deng with Noah in a small-ball outfit.

Terrific defense and length. I suspect you'll target a long and mobile 4 to back up Brand next? That would really round out your 7-man rotation.

Nice work so far.

I'd need to see some metrics, but I don't think he's the defender he once was. A step slow.

In terms of stats, his rebounding and steals numbers seem to be down considerably from his prime (4-5 years ago).

In a vacuum, the talent in the starting lineup is undeniable. Two major concerns:

1. Payroll: you've yet to round out a 7-man rotation, and you've got less than $17 million left to spend.

2. Health: related to issue #1, you're going to need to find quality backups for your stars. Love and Granger are coming back from major injuries, and Horford had a serious injury last year. Even Lopez and Calderon have missed games in the past several seasons due to nagging injuries.

Well, those two bargain contracts definitely helped. Good picks there, although I still might have preferred a more defensive-minded big than Blatche. You got picks to come though, and can probably acquire additional inexpensive role players to round things out.

So much salary tied up in Boozer. Still not sure about the fit. There's another PG on the board who might be a better, cheaper fit for Kobe, if you're feeling the pinch.

Amare is quietly playing very well for New York off the bench. He has a much improved post game and is scoring very effectively. If his minutes were not limited due to chemistry concerns there, he would be getting a lot more attention for his strong play for the Knicks.

I wanted a 2nd high quality scorer to put alongside Eric Gordon and I rated Amare as the best option available. After D-Wade, I think Amare was the next best (non-injured) scorer in the first round. I also liked that he was a big man who was strong in the pick and roll and could develop a nice two man game with E.Gordon too.

I  didn't think Amare would last until my next pick. I thought he made too much sense for too many towards the bottom the of the first round and didn't like the odds of him making it past all those teams. I don't know whether I was right or wrong about that but that is why I took him in the first.

Side note: I loved the idea of LeBron, Amare and Bosh together. I thought that frontcourt would have been unguardable. If I didn't select Amare, I was hoping Miami would pick Amare. That would've been a really fun team.

I would look for a defensive big man to play alongside Nikola Pekovic and David Lee. Probably a power forward with Lee filling in as backup center when Pekovic goes to the bench. Somebody who works alongside both players. Someone who has solid quickness and mobility.

After that, I would target a strong backup PG to play behind Brandon Jennings. Your wings aren't the strongest shot-creators and work best when playing off of someone else so I think a good backup PG is important.

how about my collection of 22 year olds?

A lot of times I took the BPA but if this was a real team I would think this team would be in a good position going forward with all the young assets and cheap contracts and ample cap space.

Love the Jack-Gordon pairing. And Davis/Kanter could grow into an exciting frontcourt, given time.

Haven't seen much of Mbah a Moute, but I know he's missed time due to a nagging knee/leg injury of some sort. I don't know at this point whether he is a power 3, or a small 4. A lighter, faster wing of similar size might be good for the later rounds, someone who can defend opposing 2s/3s.
