How about dealing Pierce, KG and Terry to the Clippers for CP3, Odom, Butler and Turiaf (sounds like Clips don't want to deal Bledsoe or Jordan)

Then deal Rondo and Bass to the Lakers for D Howard.

Clears a ton of cap space, you land CP3 and DHoward with the chance of signing them both to max deals this summer.

Didn't these two always want to play together?

For 2013-14 you could have the following lineup

-PG/Chris Paul
-SG/Avery Bradley/Courtney Lee/Leandro Barbosa
-SF/Caron Butler/Jeff Green
-PF/Jeff Green/Jared Sullinger/Lamar Odom
-C/Dwight Howard/Rony Turiaf/Fab Melo

I just can't see the Clippers moving CP3.  He's playing like an MVP (non-Lebron category) this year.

True. I was just thinking in terms of whether the Clippers fear losing him after the season is over and sticking with their PG of the "future" in Bledsoe who is at least under contract for a few more years.

Fair warning - there is a huge lecture coming from BBallTim about how much better Rajon Rondo (especially PLAYOFF Rajon Rondo) is than Chris Paul.  Whether it's true or not is irrelevant, the lecture is forthcoming.  Likely pages and pages long, dozens of sarcastic and caustic posts, and certain to have the "last word".

Are you joking?

The Clippers would NEVER trade away the best PG in the league (and the guy who single handedly turned them from a lottery team to a contended in two seasons) for two declining ex-superstars who have maybe two seasons left in them.

You could throw Rondo in the deal WITH KG and and Pierce and the Clippers still probably wouldn't do it.

The only guys I can see the Clippers even CONTEMPLATING trading for Paul would be Lebron, Durant, Derek Rose, Dwyane Wade, Dwight Howard (if he was healthy and didn't have mental issues).  Even many of those are unlikely.

Honestly I think the Clippers would give up Griffin before they'd give up Paul. A big like Bosh, Kevin Love, Pau Gasol or Zach Randolf could pretty much give you what Griffin does, but there is no PG in the league who can give you what Paul does.

The sound you hear off in the distance is every Clippers fan in the world collectively laughing.

...So basically, one dude is laughing somewhere.

Probably, and a laughable concept.

Chris Paul stands on his own as the best PG in the NBA, and the others (Rondo, Rose, Westbrook, Deron, etc) are all one step below.

Paul is the only PG in the league who can score like Westbrook, shoot like Steve Nash, pass like Rajon Rondo, defend like Deron, improve others like Jason Kidd with the consistency of Tim Duncan.  To add to that he is a solid rebounder at the PG position and one of the best ballhandlers of the last two decades (his turnover rate is consistently elite).

He is possibly the most complete overall player in the league (only competition being Lebron) and does not have a single flaw in his game.

The only single flaw with Chris Paul is that he has had his share of injuries, but when healthy is is absolutely undisputed as the best PG in the league.

Why even bother starting a thread like this?

In the infinite space the internet offers, I see this post as somehow taking up too much of it.
