i don't think anybody can take Lebron one-on-one. He and Durant are the best players in the league right now.

LeBron would be favored over anybody in the league right now.  He would DOMINATE Josh Smith 1 on 1.

The only players that have a chance to beat LeBron one on one would be players that are lights out shooters with lightning quick releases, and for all of his talent Josh Smith is not blessed with either skill. JudasShuttlesworth would stand a better chance against Lebron, provided he got the ball first and it was winner's outs.

Jeff Green and Paul Pierce can't beat LBJ 1 on 1, but we expect them to defend LBJ.

In close games, Celtics fans are an emotional mess: "We want Rondo to shoot, we don't want him to shoot, we don't know what the hell we want."

Some here blame Rondo for unemployment and global warming I swear.

I'm not necessarily sold on trying to acquire Josh Smith, but your line of reasoning makes absolutely no sense.

By your logic, it's not even worth having anyone on our team who plays the three or four position, because none of them can beat Lebron James in a game of one on one.

Huh?

Also forget how JG played D on Kobe.

Cool.

Green is a very good defender. Put Green and Bass together and you get a reasonable approximation of J Smith. Question is how Atlanta would view such a deal. I think they have to look at who would take Smith and where Smith would re-sign.

Yes we loose Green on Kobe; but we still have Lee - Bradley is too small. He can guard Wade; but not Kobe.

I think I could deal with Green and Bass for Smith if I was completely convinced that we'd be able to sign him to a long term deal.

I don't like the deal if it's basically just clearing salary.

I think anyone has a chance to beat Lebron 1v1 as long as there aren't any refs there :P

This is a pretty silly question.

But it got me thinking- who would be the best 1-on-1 player in the NBA? Biggest factors are creating your own shot, rebounding, man-to-man defense, and being restricted to gentleman's fouls...
