Doc says C's are monitoring China league, which ends in a week.

Doc says Celtics need a ball-handling guard (not necessarily a PG) who can play multiple positions, shoot & has toughness. And a big.

Bet you never thought you would read a thread title like that on here ;)

China! Best country in the world!

But I think T-Mac has the handles and skill... I wouldn't mind signing him.

Link? Last I checked he won a championship over there & his stat line was ridiculously good.

I was always a fan of Wafer.  Probably overrated him, but thought he was better than people gave him credit for.

Sure sounds like Terrence Williams to me.

Does anybody have a good take on why he didn't stick over here?

the problem has been his inability to mature, not physical skills. google him to find out more, but here are a few articles about his behavior and abilities.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/880681-houston-rockets-is-terrence-williams-the-x-factor-in-the-2011-12-season
"Though he dominated the ball at times, he passed well, attacked the rim at will against NBA defenders and even played solid defense. With his pairing of length (6'6" frame and 6'9" wingspan) and athletic ability, there is no doubt that he has the body to be a top-notch wing man in the NBA.

However, as is the case with countless NBA flame outs, Williams' problems have never been about talent."

http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/26046774
"Williams is a giant question mark for the Nets and head coach Avery Johnson, as he has reportedly been late to practices and shootarounds multiple times. He was deactivated by the team last week, didn't travel on the team's current road trip and has appeared in just eight games so far this year"

http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2012/3/21/2889756/terrence-williams-shot-with-the-kings-is-another-test-of-keith-smarts
"When he came to the NBA, he went into the highly disfunctional Nets and really believed that he was going to be "the man." He misbehaved, regularly showed up for practice late, and had a coach that reacted by "punishing" him, when he would really respond better to "you are better than that." In fact, specifically stated as intended to punish him, the Nets sent him off to the D League where he literally lit up the boards. They were embarassed into calling him back up, but the coach refused to play him. Another Nets coach continued on the same track, and he was traded to Houston.

Adelman doesn't have patience with those types of games and did not give him much of a shot. He started to play the same stuff with McHale, so McHale benched him. Smart has some successful experience dealing with this type of personality (DMC) but is it worth his time and energy?"

Careful with the translation here.  Doc said that they ideally want another ball handling guard (he also said they want a big man who can stretch the floor).  And he also said that they are looking at players in China.

He didn't say that they are looking for a ball handler in China.
