Rajon Rondo underwent successful ACL surgery on Tuesday. Rondo's surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Florida, and the initial expectation is that Rondo will be ready to play by training camp. There is a long road between now and training camp, so that timetable is anything but certain to hold true.

Danny Ainge tells Globe Rondo underwent ACL surgery Tues Performed by James Andrews. Ainge says Rondo suffered no other knee damage
Ainge adds that Leandro Barbosa also sustained MCL damage and will wait a month before his surgery to strengthen left knee

Now comes the hard part; recovery & rehab.
It's gonna be a long road back for Rajon. Wish him the best.

They said this for Bradley at some point, and he was out until January. It will serve the team well not to rush Rondo back before he's fully recovered.

Good luck to Rajon. Rehab is tough. Can't wait til he is back on the court with the team again.

rondo's lucky (relatively speaking) that the damage wasn't too severe with the partial ACL tear. i think he'll back sooner than later vs. barbosa (who tore his ACL and MCL). rose is prob the worst-case possible (ACL, MCL, PCL, I believe), so I'm not surprised he isn't close to returning yet.

That's about 20 miles from where I live. I wonder if I'll see him around town? Probably, not in the Walmart, though.

Great news.
Now the hard part begins. This is where his mental toughness gets really tested. Rehab is a long, mentally draining process (of course physically too) and he needs to be strong willed, which I know he is.
Best of luck to Rondo, we could use him for the Final Stand.
