Fields is a pretty big disappointment to me.  $6 million+ for what?  4.8 points?

I think asking him to be much more than a rotation caliber player, below average starter in the future is a bit much. I don't think he'll ever get much better.

But that said, I don't think he's nearly as bad as he's been playing.

I think Fields can easily be a 25 mpg game guy backing up the 2 and 3

The problem is that he's been getting around 22 minutes per game in Toronto, and is averaging those 4.8 points.  His defense has been spotty, and he's shooting 11% from three.  The only thing he's doing well is rebounding.

Now, hopefully he bounces back to where he was as a rookie.  However, there's a good chance that he got his contract, and will never produce like he did.

Agree to disagree on his defense I guess, I think it has been pretty solid.  They have opted to start Fields the last two times they played the knicks and have him match up on Melo.

In those two games combined melo was

16-48 from the field, 33%
2-14 from 3, 14%

Season averages for melo are 44% from the field and 39% from 3.

His overall defense this year ranks somewhere around the 44th percentile, in terms of points allowed per possession.  To me, that backs up my observations, and is "spotty".

Yoki, sorry bro beans but I think you miscalculated the time. Its only 10:46 here, 7.9 isn't due until 11:20.

Oh I'm sorry. I looked at the picks and not the time, since I saw 7.9 was picked already.

I'm sorry everyone...

Wait is 7.9 up? I have 7.9

I just made my 7.6 pick (Maxiell)

No word back from Edgar, so I'm going to give him the guy he said was his favored option...

7.2 - Austin Rivers

Coach - Eric Spoelstra

I think 7.7 is up.  I'm sitting here with 7.8 and haven't picked yet, at least.

Quote
Atlanta hawks (Salary 57.1/70.3 mill)
Al horford 12mill, Robin Lopez 4.8 Mill
Kevin Love 13.6 mill
Danny Granger 13 Mill
Ronnie Brewer 854,389
Jose Calderon 10.5 Mill, Kemba Walker 2.4 Mill
7.5, 8.5, 8.22, 9.5, 9.22, 10.5, 11.5

I think Atlanta would have been better off with a pair of specialists on the wing rather than Landry Fields. A shooter behind Ronnie Brewer and a defensive SF with legitimate size behind Danny Granger.

I think that would work better than a SG/SF who can play 20-25 minutes a night. Go with a deeper bench rotation instead.

I see what you mean, but I disagree, I personally would rather have an all around good player who can do multiple things than a specialist.  Unless they are best in the league at what they do.  A guy like Novak or Bradley for example.  I didnt see any specialists left for decent money that were standouts at what they supposedly "Specialize" in.

AKA, Roy wasn't a big fan of taking the worst rotation player in the league at 7.2, even if he was Doc Rivers's son.

Alright, I'm on the clock.  Trying to decide if I think a fourth guard or a fifth big is more important.

It's the first pick of Edgar's I really haven't liked.  I preferred his second option, and probably about two dozen other guys in front of Rivers.

My theory is that Edgar has a secret plan to take out his loathing of Doc on his son.

I prefer to think of it as buying low on Rivers.  He really has nowhere to go but up.

5th big. You need another center.

Difficult decision, but I'm taking Gary Neal.  I think there's a very good chance that my other guy is still there next round.

I think Andrew Nicholson is the best value on the board, so I'm going to take him with pick 7.7

The rough percentile can be found by taking their rank, and dividing by 450 (which is the number of players who have logged at least 1 minute this year).

Incidentally, of those 450 players, Austin Rivers ranks...  450th in win shares, with -1.3.  I'm not a huge fan of the win shares stat is basketball, but that can't be good.

Michael Beasley is tied for last.
