Joe Johnson is on the block.
I don't think he is going to have much trade value with his contract the way it is. Not many teams can afford to pay him. It'll be hard to get good value for him.

I think you will end up best off keeping him.

I think he's still a good player, and could make sense for certain teams.  I'd see if there's a match with nick's Lakers.

What is Chicago's payroll now?

I imagine that foursome is very expensive. $18 million for Joe Johnson. What, $15 million for Iggy? $11 million for Noah maybe. Probably $12-13 million for Deng. Around $55-57 million. Is that right?

56 million dollars out of 74. No biggie, I got 18 more million. LOL

I would be happy to start JJ at point guard in a big lineup or go small and slide Iggy to SF and Deng to PF.

I would be more inclined to go small. I think it'll be easier to find a PG who finishes that lineup smoothly than a skilled power forward.

But why not just pick a point guard for a 1/3rd fo the money?

2.21 is on the block - looking to move it and a lower pick for two inbetween picks.  PM me with offers.

There is still one guy out there I'd probably take at 21, but I'm assuming he'll be gone soon.

Well, be patient and shop around for the best deal.  You still have a couple of rounds until you really get pinched salary wise.

I'm hoping you don't have to break up that Noah-Deng-Iggy core.  Love that.

Because now a PG on the opposing teams is going to have try to defend one of Joe Johnson, Andre Iguodala or Luol Deng.

JJ is a major matchup problem. Far more so than any PG left on the board.

Your fine. I had a few different budgets worked out before hand and one was for $53 million on a $70 million cap. So you got $56 for $74.

I figured I could've afforded to have three $4 million guys or four $3 million guys and then minimum contracts to round the rest of the team out. Something like that.

Doable, very much so.

It's not like you need a whole lot on your bench anyway.

Your star guys are all 40 minute a night players.

It's not like you have Roy Hibbert there who can only play 28 minutes a night and need an expensive backup behind him to keep everything ticking.

So, what's the early consensus?

Are salaries an interesting aspect of this game that adds a new element, differentiating it from the CB Draft?

Or are they overly burdensome and a pain in the butt?

haven't felt the pinch yet but not falling in love with it

Yeah, about time somebody took him.

Nene takes some of the sting out of the Marc Gasol deal.

Excellent pick. Nene was the guy I wanted to pair with Z-Bo in the summer's CB Draft when I had Zach Randolph + Deron Williams. Couldn't get him though.

I think Nene and Z-Bo will work very well together. One of the best M.Gasol replacements you could've gotten and to get him at this stage of the draft is an absolute steal.
