I haven't seen much of Beal yet. I don't know what to make of him.

Washington have been so ugly to watch this year. I'll try to catch a few of their games now that John Wall is back. That team should be at least somewhat watchable now.

They've actually been pretty decent ever since Wall got back. Him and Beal are fun to watch.

The two Spurs trades are voided as of right now.

Unless I missed something, they don't own the 28th pick in the round, so they can't convey the 2.28, 3.28, or 4.28.

REMINDER:  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU OWN THE DRAFT PICKS YOU'RE SENDING!!!

It is meant to be the 26th pick. The Spurs noted the mistake late last night.

They were thinking of a 30 team league instead of a 28th team league. So 30-2 = 28 instead of 28-2 = 26. The Spurs highlighted their mistake after IP posted the trade.

Trade confirmed:

Spurs send: Tim Duncan, 2.28, 4.28

to

Celtics for: Avery Bradley, 1.20, 5.20

Trade Confirmed:

Spurs Trade: Tony Parker, 3.28

For

Wizards Trade: John Wall

Sorry guys, I had the 26 pick in the draft.  I was think 30-2 rather than 28-2.  My bad.

This is what it SHOULD look like:

Trade confirmed:

Spurs send: Tim Duncan, 2.26, 4.26

to

Celtics for: Avery Bradley, 1.20, 5.20

Trade Confirmed:

Spurs Trade: Tony Parker, 3.26

For

Wizards Trade: John Wall

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
I don't understand the direction San Antonio took.  Why draft a "win now" team so early, only to blow it up?

Well, I was in a win-now mode, until I was looking through my spreadsheet of BPA available (I picked 26th every round) and I realized, "Wow, Parker + Duncan + crap does not = championship."

It was a very tough decision, but in the end I decided that I liked Wall's and Bradley's defensive potential.  I have two mid-to-late first rounders, so I should be able to pick up two young starting-caliber guys, and then I pick in the fifth round all the way to the thirteenth, just finding guys to fill out the roster.

I actually had a trade in place to acquire a better PG on a cheaper salary where it was Tony for that PG plus picks being exchanged.  In the end, I declined because the picks I had weren't great, which would leave me with this:

PG better than Wall
Bradley
1 mid first, no second, no third, no fourth, then 26th the rest of the way

To me, that screams 14th in the lottery every year.

I didn't want that, so I decided to do a full-blown rebuild.

If the teams want to go through, just resend the trades with the proper picks.

Yeah, they've been above .500 since Wall came back. I have heard that Wall has had some really good performances in that period and has been playing some much improved defense.

I am looking forward to seeing that. Wall is still one of the most exciting prospects in the league today.

Definitely on my "to watch" list.

Since Wall and their best big man came back they've apparently been playing top 5 level defense.

Which is really surprising to me.

  • Derrick Rose is year-to-year
recently beals shooting numbers have made a significant jump with the return of wall and I think lawson offers some of the same skills that help beal out.

Without his jump in numbers I wouldnt have pulled the trigger on the deal but now it gives me three young guys that can really play

SG: Beal/ Henderson/ Ingram
SF: Winslow/McDermott/

Not that I agree with this, but ESPN was crowning Wall with multiple DPOYs before he was drafted.

It had been well-documented that Wall was a very good defender in both HS and college.

Have the trades been resent and approved?
