If a trade goes through that results in one person getting one less draft pick, can we sign free agents at the end of the draft to round out our roster?

Yes

I think we'll need an official ruling on this. In past drafts, we've allowed and disallowed such trades.

I was walking along the road with two friends
the sun was setting
suddenly the sky turned blood red
I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence
there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city
my friends walked on and I stood there trembling with anxiety
and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.

Roy says we may and we may not. In the proposed trade, both teams still have at least 12 players+picks, so it should be fine either way.

Yeah, I'm curious about this too.  I kind of like the idea of having a short FA period after the draft.  Would make completing trades easier (I think).

Portland is happy to announce a sponsorship deal with Tim Hortons. If the team breaks 110 in scoring, everybody gets a box of Priestlys.

How would you do the order for free agents though. It'd basically need to just turn into more voting or else its just a free for all

No free agents.

Teams need to have at least 12 players, and a max of 13 (non-overseas) players.

Teams with 12 players will be assessed a $490k roster charge.

Might I make a general recommendation that traders then match picks? I.e. don't trade two picks for one, instead trade two picks for one pick and one last-rounder.

I don't particularly like that rule.  We tried that one year, and I felt that it limited GMs' creativity.  Rather, I'd prefer to let GMs figure out how to balance their rosters properly.

As a "best practices" thing I don't mind it, but I don't want it to be a hard and fast rule.
