POI: There was no old English word 'Ye', as in, 'Ye Olde Hologram Shoppe'.
In Old English and early Middle English, the sound (th) was represented by the letter thorn (ž). But, since the letter thorn was not in use in Germany (where the majority of the typesets came from for printing presses), they improvised with 'Ye'.
