Before it comes up:  You take players as you find them, meaning injuries count.  If you take Leandro Barbosa as a keeper, for instance, you're getting an injured Barbosa.

Also, teams should assume that any keeper they take will re-sign with their team (for market rate) indefinitely.  There's no risk that a keeper will choose to depart the next season in free agency.

You can't pick theCharlattle Supercats. They're not a real team.

Doing my tier rankings for shooting guards - when you consinder salaries it's really, really difficult.

You've got a lot of super talents probably making too much at this point, and a lot of emerging stars who are not quite there, but making much less.

I could be wrong - but the way I interpreted it was that this years salary is what's used against your cap but length still matters. Kind of opens up debates about team's ability to pay certain players in the future

ie: Ty Lawson makes something like 1 million this year, but 10 next.

Are you talking about poison pill players? (Players who have signed an extension before the end of their rookie contacts)

For the cap aspect of the game, whatever they're making this year is all that matters against the cap restriction.

In terms of extensions, length of contract, it only matters as much as you let it matter to you; there are no winners.

Maybe there should be some definitiveness on this? I know its not competitive, but i think it opens up two very different schools of thought. Use ty lawson for example

Person 1 could just use this years salary and say they got a steal.

Person 2 looks at it as a steal, but has to consider his teams ability to pay out these salaries down the road.

Anybody have a good site where I can look at salaries?

The "official" salaries for this game will be those at shamsports:

The game (or exercise, or whatever) envisions you picking up the player with his current contract.  The only modification to that rule is that your two keepers are guaranteed to re-sign with your team at market rate.
