Question:

If a player makes a pick or makes a trade that puts them over the cap and the commish doesn't pick up on it what happens?

Is the pick or trade voided?
Is it allowed but all future drafting rights discontinued until a trade is made to get that team under the cap?

To avoid such things when teams start getting past 5-6 players should GMs list their salary cap numbers in the trade confirmations and draft picks to make things easier on the commish?

I think you should be allowed to make a trade that puts you over the cap as long as you are under at the end of the draft
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

What type of team do you build around Jrue and Smith?
Jrue Holiday is a nice big PG with good defensive range.

A combo guard like Monta Ellis could work well alongside Holiday.

Like I said in PM, I think you look for a big who is quazi capabale offensively (a Perkins wouldn't work) and then fill your wings with shooters (preferably athletic ones)

I wonder about sliding Josh Smith back to SF and putting in a Bargnani type player at PF.

If scorers aren't available, that could be a good way to boost your offense.
If I'm a coach, to maximize Smith and to attempt to get him to take better shots, I would ONLY put him at PF and I would limit his outside touches. Putting Smith at SF is like giving him a green light to go ahead and jack all those outside shots that he is so inefficient at.

Hi.

Trade opportunity

Sources say there's something in the works, but the Bucks want more in return ;)

Source: Monta Ellis hasnt been efficient this year and his contract is too much of a burden for what Milwaukee is asking

Monta Ellis has never been efficient. I could see your problem with spending Ellis money on an Ellis type player.

Yea i know Monta has never been really efficient but i mean this year he is at .401% FG .232 3P% compared to last year that is a downgrade

He was actually efficient 07-08 but thats about it

You know who would be great with Holiday and Smith?

Andrew Bynum. Smith is a bit of a stretch 4, and elite defensively for the position, Bynum also an elite defender and a flat-out banger. Match made in heaven.

I have already heard one comparison beating the Tristian Thompson drum hinting he is as good as a 4 time DPOY and 4 time 20+PPG and 14+RPG player.

At least the Andrew Bynum drum beating is based on some kind of reality. ;D

First of all, screw you guys.

Second of all, I'm just picking up the beat where others have left off. I'm not the first guy to say he's the second best center in basketball.

And fourth of all, I didn't say Tristan Thompson was as good as Dwight Howard. What I pointed out was that his stat line (and his play) is pretty special, and I was highlighting what is one of the more under-reported stories on the year, that likely only Jrue Holiday has a possible claim to MIP better than Thompson's.

I haven't decided yet.  Rules should be up sometime before drafting starts.

My inclination is to disallow the trade and to do something punitive, like take away draft picks.
