Wow. Just an observation but everytime Andrew Perna of RealGM writes an article on a Celtics player they go down with a season ending injury within a week or two.

Really bad news for LB.  I feel horrible for him.  He was really starting to become a valued member of the team.  I really liked his energy and those crazy finger rolls.

I think he was a really really good value for the contract.  Unfortunately I don't think we are going to find that kind of talent for value right now.  Hopefully we can find someone that fits with the team, and at least gives great effort.

No, there is very little likelyhood of finding a player of Barbosa's talent for the vet min, especially at this point in the season.

Barbosa was a player who had looked way worse than he really was, due to playing on a team where he just didn't fit one bit.  Indiana plays slow as molasses.  Barbosa does not.

On top of that, he had previously played in Toronto.  Playing in Canada is not good for a player's career.  You can become easily forgotten.

Delonte is probably the closest comparison (just for very different reasons), in terms of being a player with talent far greater than the contract he could get.  I just have no more desire for him.  He is now officially, in my opinion, not worth the headache.  Too much of a lockeroom distraction.

Not surprising. Big blow to a short-handed backcourt.
Long way from worrying how to fit in the minutes for all 5 guards....

lol I remember when that was a hot topic...not so much anymore
Well, the guards are still a hot topic. Though the topic is somewhat more concise now: HELP WANTED.

Finding a capable rotation guard suddenly became a priority.

Just not our year
I've gotten tired of saying that every year since 2009.
I just hate that every year since 2008 it's been season ending injury after another to multiple players on this team.
I seriously hope next season will be the season where they don't have to worry about this.

I wish the best for Barbosa because he was good for the team and seemed to bring a positive spirit.

speaking of which, yes I totally agree

2009 - KG and Leon Powe
2010 - Perkins
2011 - Marquis Daniels, Shaq and Rondo dislocated arm
2012 - Avery Bradley
2013 - Rondo, Sullinger, Barbosa...

I feel like every year, its an important player that goes down that blows our chances at a championship...since when did we became the Portland Trailblazers?

I don't think Powe, Daniels, Shaq, or Sullinger should have come as a surprise to anyone. And even Barbosa, for that matter, who hasn't played more than 64 games per season since 2008-2009.
