Now that Barbosa is out for the season we could use another guy similar to him. Also we still need a big man. So how about going after disgruntled big man Chris Kaman and Rodrigue Beaubois? We could get rid of bass but move Melo and Collins and a pick to seal the deal.

Dallas is going nowhere this season. Could use another pick and they could use that pick to deal bass in the off-season to sure up some cap space.

Your reasoning makes sense the only problem is, Dallas wants to save cap space for this upcoming summer, both Kaman and Roddy are expiring deals so this would hurt them cap wise.

Let's break this down.  Initially, they have Kaman and Beaubois.  Then, they have Bass, Melo, and a pick.  Then, they trade Bass and the pick for cap space, so they end up with Melo and cap space.  If they do nothing, they have Beaubois and cap space instead.

Meanwhile, the Celtics spend a pick for the privilege of trading two bigs who can play now for one big who can play now.

Well i figure its a good move for Boston now. As far as this not being a very deep draft what so ever. Also Kaman is expiring so that also helps with money this off-season. Get Roddy who can provide scoring punch off the bench. Also have to add a FA big which everyone seems to want K-mart whom I would also take.

Why would the Mavs want Bass?

They didn't even re-sign him when he was with them in 08

And who would want Bass from the Mavs? Doesn't make sense for them at all. They would rather let the contracts they currently have expire than try to find a team to trade Bass to.
