I was originally on the fence about moving one of the two once Rondo went down. After this latest surge they won me over with their obvious "grit and balls".

Now Barbosa goes down and while he's not Rondo or Sully he had started to really carve out a very solid role on this team; it will show and it will hurt.

I'm looking up and down this roster seeing how changes can be made and trying to keep my eyes off Garnett or Pierce.

If you make that move, it has to be both because the other one will not happily stay IMO during an obvious rebuild.

So what exactly CAN Danny move around to help this team?

Get lucky by finding a D-League talent who can shock people like Jeremy Lin.

Melo, Bass, and future picks.... might be good enough to get us Ryan Hollins back.

I don't think losing Barbosa is that costly, as long as Bradley, Lee and Terry stay healthy those guys can collectively play 96 backcourt minutes per game.

I think the only way we get a big guy who's a difference-maker is by moving Rondo, or maybe by moving Sully and a first. We don't have any other valuable assets.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Trade Bass. I'd like at least a point guard prospect and a mediocre PF/C.

Charles Jenkins + Jeremy Tyler?

Nolan Smith + Joel Freeland?

Jeremy Evans + Jamaal Tinsley?
Jeremy Evans + Earl Watson?

Jannergo Pargo + Ivan Johnson?

Drew Gooden + Udrich?

Dominique Jones + 2nd?

I like Marcus Smart

Sign available free agents = Kenyon Martin + guard (Delonte or Fisher)

Give up minor assets, like a 2nd round pick, to find a low level rotation player (someone like DeJuan Blair) to fill a hole.

Unfortunately not much. I think the best kind of deal we could make to stay competitive this year would hurt our future.

This is likely the only type of trade we could make to fill our needs and try and contend this year, but is detrimental in the long run.
