As much as I hate to say it (because I really don't like the guy), D12. He has his flaws but not only is he a legit big man, he makes far less dumb decisions than Smith and is a defensive beast. He isn't used well in LA and I feel he needs to be a first option (unlike being on a team with Kobe). Look at the Magic without him.. so yeah D12 easily

Has to be Howard still, Josh Smith isn't exactly having his best season.

But Howard's back and shoulder scare me that he'll never be an MVP caliber guy again, perhaps just an all-star level C. That's a pretty big decline for him.

I go with Smith. Howard has shown to have a terribly poor attitude and becomes a whining cry baby in situations he doesnt like. I would much rather have Smith. Especially because currently he seems healthier. Who knows if Dwight will ever be his old self again.

Neither? I'm not interested in building a mediocre team.

This isn't even close in my mind.  Howard, even with his injuries is still one of the more dominant presences in the league.  Put him on a team that wasn't so disfunctional, and I think he would be a very different player.

Smith is insanely overrated in these parts IMO.  He is one of the most infuriating offensive players in the league, and isn't as dominant defensively as Howard.

Probably impossible to get Howard.....he ll be a net, hawk , or Mav next year , I think he'll be healthier one day, maybe no Orlando like for a long time..     He is so weak mentally., a head case, but he might grow up.

Like Smith........ but not as max or franchise player........meh.....he 's not worth as much as he thinks

DA......likes value, risks,   like Sully ..........

Still believe Celtics would be set, landing Cousins and retraining him.........I can see DA gambling on DMC

Like the Orlando Magic, for example?

A large part of why those teams are so dysfunctional is that they have Dwight Howard.

No, they are dysfunctional because they let Howard pull the strings.  They made some truly terrible decisions, in order to try to make Howard happy, rather than trying to make the team better.

Yes, because so many teams have done great by alienating their best players.

It's not the Lakers or the Magic. It's Howard.

ideally neither but a case can be made for DH.  no case for building around Smith.

Smith isn't a bad 2nd or better yet 3rd banana but DH is a pretty good second banana as long as he buys into it.  Neither one has shown me the BBIQ necessary to be the top player on the team.  Smith arguably has the heart to do it but I just don't see that in DH.

Howard.

It has been shown that you can build a title contending team around him without another top player.

Smith isn't even the best player on non-contending playoff team.
