Chuckle.

This is a good basketball TEAM.

Fun to watch - for the first time this season. Ball is moving, backcourt defense is good, energy is outstanding.

Pierce isn't going anywhere. Neither is Garnett.

   Doesn't saying Pierce has to retire a Celtic mean you care more about Pierce then you do about the Celtic's organization?

Just playing devils advocate.

  I wouldn't trade Pierce now but I certainly would have thought about it just a few weeks ago when he look old and tired with no legs.

No.  I think it has more to do with the fact that:

1) Some fans prefer to watch good basketball for another couple of seasons before going back into the dregs of the lottery;

2) Many of those same fans recognize that rebuilding to a championship-caliber team is rarely successful, and that a wildly successful rebuild would see this team challenging or the Eastern Conference Finals;

3) Red Auerbach himself showed loyalty to this team's aging stars, turning the Celtics organization into what it is.  I'm doubtful that anybody would argue that Red didn't sufficiently care about the Celtics organization.

Yes, in general I agree with the OP's sentiment.
On the other hand, sell high, right?

Unless Pierce literally gets younger I don't see what type of great offers we could "sell high" for.

Everything I've.heard previously sounds like vomit to me.

I'm strongly in the "Do not trade Paul Pierce under any circumstances" camp.  I've built a nice house there, my kids like the school district and everything.  I wouldn't deal him under any but the most insane circumstances.  (Durant + Perkins and a 1st for Paul + Bass.  Totally works in the trade calc.)

However, I am EXTREMELY curious how much his trade value has increased in the past 2-3 weeks.

I have to think any team foolish enough to make an offer has had to up the ante in the past couple of weeks.

Not sure what I'd hate more.

Watching Paul drop daggers in a different jersey --or-- coming here to debate whether Bledsoe should start over Avery & who we should take with the 10th pick in the draft
