I wouldn't go as fare to call this a pitiful.
of course you wouldn't, you proposed this atrocity   ::)

horrible, horrible, horrible deal for Boston.  We ship out the best player we have, who happens to be on a very club-friendly deal, and will be our best player after PP and KG retire for 2 players striving to get to the level of mediocre and a 1st round pick that will lose value daily once they have Josh Smith.
So what if Rondo is out this year.  keep him and the team, now that the players have finally figured out how to play together effectively, will be that much better next year.

Phx gets immediately better with smith and Rondo.   They'd laugh themselves silly if Bos and Atl were foolish enough to go for this.
Pick 2 Draft 2014: Cleveland Cavs:
Starters:
Kyrie Irving, Kevin Martin, Luol Deng, Serge Ibaka, Nikola Vucevic.
Bench: Andray Blatche, Tyreke Evans, Corey Brewer, Kosta Koufos, Rodney Stuckey, Anthony Morrow, Reggie Evans

The Celtics and Hawks both hang up the phone on that trade.  The Suns are getting two stars for role players and draft picks, it just wouldn't ever happen.
