Any chance KG can win MVP or DPOY ? Say if the c's get up to the 4th or 5th spot in the east and the c's continue to dominate in the second half of the season.

I would imagine Durant and Lebron are his main competition in the MVP race....

With the way he's playing... A snowballs chance in you nowhere.

He may not even be the MVP of our team. Defensive player of our team yes. But one of these out of the entire league? Ya, not even close.

Yeah, there are not any strong candidates this season. A down year.

My pick is Joakim Noah.

Nobody has a bigger impact on team defense than KG. he may not put up gaudy league-leading defensive stats, but I truly believe he is still the best overall defender in the league. I'd say he has been the best for the better part of a decade (perhaps sans the '09-'10 season when his knee still wasn't right).

I'd put KG in the top 3 with Russell and Hakeem as the greatest defensive players ever.

I find it laughable the award went to Chandler last year (while not making 1st team all-defense????). KG is done getting individual awards, and I'm sure he isn't interested in anything else but a ring.

You literally stole my exact post. Dwight Howard should have this in the bag, but he's not looking quite like himself (although rumors of his decline are vastly exaggerated). Noah deserves it right now, that Bulls team is getting by on grit and defense, and when Rose gets back, it'll be a revelation.

There is no chance he wins MVP.

He SHOULD win DPOY.  He should have won it every year from 2000 to now.  Who knows if he'll win it.  We're a basketball team with an elite defense where he is the only true big man on our team playing more than 5 MPG

Ibaka isn't even in the conversation.

Noah, Duncan, and Paul George are all legit candidates. Garnett isn't.

That's a pretty good top 3 I think.  And Howard will probably outpoint KG on reputation, and due to the overemphasis on stats, Ibaka and maybe even Larry Sanders will place over KG too.  He'd be lucky to make 2nd team All-Defense, although he deserves it over a few of those guys.
