If you can trade Lee for a player with size you do it. You can always sign Delonte to take his place. Delonte's familiar with the team and also familiar with Terry from their days in Dallas.

Forget Delonte.  If the Celtics had ANY interest in bringing West back, he:

A. Never would have gone to Dallas in the first place
B. Would have already been brought back to fill in Rondo's spot

Doesn't it say something that Dallas - the team that's most intimately familiar now with Delonte's struggles - wants absolutely nothing to do with him?

They won't trade Arthur since they traded Speights away just so Arthur could play more

If they're getting a guy in return like Bass, then they would be more inclined to move him.

I'd probably move Lee for the trade exception that Boston would get back.  I'd really like Tony Allen back though.  I think he would be a great fit and would be an easy sell to the rest of the team that we aren't giving up on the year (while at the same time dumping Lee for an expiring).

Yes, you beat me to it. If it were a Lee for Allen trade, that'd be great for the Cs.

I would also be tempted with the straight up Lee for trade exeption -- it would give the Cs options in the future. That said, a $5M trade exemption is in a funny range. it is about $1M or $1.5M too small to be really useful, IMHO. The players out there that it could be used on is limited (e.g.: all the folks that signed for the MLE this year get a raise next year, and the TE couldn't be used on them).

Yea that trade exp could only land us a role player, say umm Courtney Lee?

Yea, exactly!
Except we wouldnt be able to get Lee next year bc he'd be above the $5M TE...

With Minnesota interested in moving Ridnour would a deal like this make sense...

Lee to the Grizz

Ridnour to the Celts

Trade Exception and a second rounder to Minn?

Not sure what Minn is looking for but the could get an exception and the pick.

Ridnour/Barboas
Bradley/Terry
Pierce/Green
Bass/Wilcox
KG/Collins

Gives us a true point for the rest of the season and finally a good legit back up next year for Rondo. I really like how Lee is playing right now though and would probably only move him for a big in return.

Good for them....I'm interested in keeping him

^yep, sounds about right

we're playing very good basketball right now and motivated basketball

I prefer moving NO ONE at this point? maybe Bass, but even now, he's playing motivated

I don't want to mess with this current team chemistry and morale

Players I would trade Lee for (that work salary wise)
1. Tony Allen: last year of his contract, if he thinks they aren't committed to winning maybe they deal him.
2. Ed Davis: unlikely
3. Daryl Arthur: He would certainly be an upgrade as a back up big but is he enough of an upgrade to cover up for the downgrade at sg.

If Danny sees this team as short of a championship contender this year a deal that helps the future would be apt. When Rondo comes back we will have a log jam at the guard position. Trading Lee for a big man now could solve this log jam in the future.

We already lack size at the SG position, why would we trade Lee for another small guard?

Wasn't there a rumor last week or so that Memphis was interested in Jason Terry?
Nothing to see here

I was walking along the road with two friends
the sun was setting
suddenly the sky turned blood red
I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence
there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city
my friends walked on and I stood there trembling with anxiety
and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.

What about switching Ridnour with JJ Reddick?
I know the salaries don't quite match up, but something like that would connect a few of the dots (BOS interested in Reddick, MEM interested in Lee, ORL interested in ....?)

Debatable because Arthur is a better backup for ZBo

No motivation for Orlando, Boston isn't giving up Lee + pick for Reddick and Memphis isn't giving away a draft pick for a role player. They just gave away one to get under the tax already.
